INSTRUCTIONS
Please read the following instruction carefully.
Each group is assigned one of the topics listed below, the topics are related to the lectures taught in class.
A criteria sheet for this professional presentation is at the end of this file and on Blackboard download,
please attach it to the front of your paper when you hand it to me at the start of the presentation.
SUGGESTED TOPICS
These presentations will begin in Week 2 and continue throughout the semester.

Lecture Topic
1 Select 1 logistic and 1 supply chain project from
introduction to IE 2016: describe operations and
differences, explain the main function and
relations in one systems. Give a practical example

2 Supply chain management for service (restaurants,

education, hotel, tourist)

3 Location assessment for cafes/ eating shops: Case

study of Highland coffee.

4 Explore capacity planning at a place of business

or manufacturing plant. How is capacity
measured? What factors influence the acquisition
and allocation of resources?

5 Make an aggregate planning for shops (fast food,

restaurant). Collect real data.

6 Describe and compare the procurement process in

two companies: Explain all differences

7 Describe the logistics controlling system in

 logistic companies (DHL/ FedEx)

8 Describe a modern warehouse and it layout.

Clarity what advantages of warehouse will have in
operations from the layout

9 Describe the operation of warehouse with

distribution function and it material handling
systems. (For example: Metro)

Describe inventory management in warehouse of
medicine.
11 Applications of Green logistics in Vietnam

12 How do your group understand about 3PL

logistics: Provide statistics about demand of the
logistics in Vietnam.

13 Examples of material Handling Automation in

factories; examples of using RFID in warehouse
management systems such as Walmart, Library
management systems.

Requirements:

 Your report are submitted in PDF file via Blackboard

 The presentation must include 5 slides and present in 5 minutes.
 Each group has to choose a company to study its supply chain as described in the content sections
as below:

I. Title page: title of project, group member, ID

II. Table of contents (1 page)

It should include parts of each of the sections below.

III. Introduction (1 page)

To introduce about current state of supply chain as following:

 Describe about all elements in the supply chain (components and flows).
Demonstrate the supply chain network by figures.
 Describe the links between those elements
 Describe about the main products/ services of supply chain
 What is the main problem of the supply chain (only one)?
IV. Methodology (1 - 2 pages)
  How do describe the way that each component of supply chain coordinate to its
upstream and downstream components
V. Solution and recommendations (1-5 pages)
 Identify possible reasons of above problems
 Base on the knowledged studies propose some solutions for those problems
