Caitland and NEC

Their Biggest Project This Year

ARLINGTON, VA – September 25, 2019. Caitland Construction

Company is beginning a new project for the NEC Corporation of America. The

project is to build a new corporate office space at NEC’s design team

headquarters in Arlington, Virginia.

Alvin Hailey, president of Caitland, said, “This project is exciting, and it will be a

good challenge because of the modern aspects and innovative design in the office

space.” Caitland is an integral part of the project and is fully committed to their

vision of an office space that not only will have state-of-the-art functionality, but

will be creatively conducive to NEC’s overall mission.

The design plan is detail oriented because of the modern design concept. It is an

open design plan with all glass walls, high tech modular workstations in all of the

open areas, luxury and sustainable heated bamboo flooring, and all architectural

dimmable LED lighting instead of fluorescent lighting.

News Release: NEC Project

The largest part of the project entails the demonstration room for NEC’s facial

recognition program. This room is roughly 3,000 square feet. Once built, it will

display all of NEC’s facial recognition systems.

The space for the design team includes: three large lounge areas for relaxation, a

video gaming room for any downtime the employees may have, one large state-

of-the-art conference room, six medium sized conference rooms, four small,

private meeting conference rooms, two large fully-equipped kitchens, a fully-

equipped lab, and facial recognition demonstration room. Caitland is responsible

for the design and build of all of these rooms.
