Horses
[insert great beginning] Horses are classified by breed and categories; and
To start off with, there are over 300 types of breeds. These breeds fit into
different categories including, Draft horses, light horses, Gaited horses, Warmbloods,
and ponies. Draft horses were bred to carry and pull heavy loads. They’re tall, strong
and heavy. Light horses are the opposite of their draft horse counterparts. Light horses
were bred for speed, agility, endurance and of course riding. Light horses are used for
nearly everything form of riding to riding for pleasure to racing and ranch work. Gaited
horses are light horses but have a much smoother ride. Warmbloods are a crossbreed
between the cold blood draft horse and a hot blood light horse. A pony is just a horse

Horses can be used to plow fields and even round up sheep or cattle. According to

on their farms. They are used to help move large numbers of cattle from one place to
physical, occupational, and emotional growth in persons suffering from ADD, Anxiety,
Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Dementia, Depression, Developmental Delay, Genetic
types of horse competition from classical types such as Dressage to intense types like
cross-country sports.” Some of the most common sports include racing, English and

of racing, Flat Racing, Jump Racing, Endurance Racing, Harness Racing, and Quarter
Horse Racing. There is also Maiden Racing, Allowance and Claim Racing, Stakes
