This course has taught me a great deal about technology and computer literacy. Before this

course I thought I knew everything there was to know about computer literacy, I was shocked to

find out that I actually knew the bare minimum. I always thought I was technologically

advanced, and this opened my eyes to many new concepts about computer literacy and

technology. One of the goals and objectives for this class was to “approach new computer-based

tasks more easily and with greater confidence.” I learned many new things about Microsoft I

didn’t know prior to this class. Watching the tutorials, following along and doing it with the

video really broaden my horizon on the software as a whole. I learned how to make a PowerPoint

look its best, I learned how to use different tools in Microsoft Word and also how to use the

Google applications more efficiently. I feel a lot more confident in completing computer-based

tasks because of the concepts learned in this class. Another amazing part of this class was

creating a website on weeblyeducation.com. I have never created a website and the fact that I

was able to create my own and showcase my work throughout the semester. I am able to use the

website and update it for future endeavors. The objective in the syllabus stated we will be able to

“Create a web-based personal portfolio showcasing learning over the semester.” When I

reviewed the syllabus at the beginning of the semester, I was pretty intimidated by the task;

however, doing it throughout the semester proved to be easier. Another tool that was helpful and

I will be using in the future is Piktochart. I created a resume on this website, and it is one of the

best things that I got out of this class. I will be able to use this sophisticated, organized and

modern resume, that my future employers will be impressed and in return give me an up on other

applicants. I was able to add many different graphics that mix well with the text I wrote.

At first, I didn’t think this class would help me the way it did. My counselor said I needed to take

it so I took it, not expecting to get anything out of it. I truly learned so much from this course and

I will use it in the future. All the goals and objectives that were written in the syllabus, I met

them. When I am a teacher, these skills will help me immensely. I will be able to make

presentations that will look professional for when I present to co-workers and child friendly for

when I teach lessons in my classroom. Learning both Microsoft and Google and how to use both

applications and their tools will be very beneficial. All in all, this course will help me in my

future endeavors. I can’t wait to use all that I have learned in this course and apply it in real life,

my career as well as my personal life.
