9. How can YOU help the movement?
Partners may provide support by contributing
any or more of the following to the lOM in 10
Movement:
1. Logistics and/or human power - Partners
may contribute transportation. venues.
vehicles. or human power services of their
respective employees or members.
2. Provision of materials - Partners may
contribute seedlings. planting tools. seedling
containers and trays. tree guards. and other
needed materials.
3. Provision of land as planting sites -
Pledged planting areas may be of any classifi-
cation. as long as the relevant and appropriate
consent and authorizat ions for the specific
program. project. or activity are obtained.
4. Policy support - Partners with policy-
making capabilities are encouraged to issue
regulations. ordinances. or resolutions that
cover activities that further the goals of the
Movement.
5. Monetary or financial support - Partners
may pledge monetary or financial support to
fund or sponsor specific programs. projects.or
activities under lOM in 10.

1. What is 10M in 10?
The 10 Million Trees in 10 Years for a Greener
Negros Movement is a private sector-led
movement that aims to UNITE. INSPIRE and
ENCOURAGE people to MOVE and RE-GREEN
the Negros Island.
2. Why was 10M in 10 formed?
As of 2010, only 74.958 hectares out of 478,402
hectares. or sixteen percent (16%) of the forest-
lands of Negros Island was forested. (DENR-FM B.
Forestry Statistics.2010)
It will take a consolidated multi-stakeholder
movement to be able to achieve positive
impact in the shortest amount of time to
address the deforestation and forest
degradation on the island. This is the framework
behind lOM in 10. which is guided by three (3)
