After his senior year in high school, he graduated with honours and decided to pursue an ice
hockey career and university degree in the United States of America. He started his
international hockey career at the Global Performance Academy in New England,
Massachusetts.
Lomar is soft-hearted, intelligent and strong. He works hard and never disappoints. He is a
humble person and an extraordinary achiever.
Lomar will definitely without any doubt be a huge asset to any university, hockey federation or
hockey club that he would choose to take part in.
It is my sincerest believe that Lomar is one of those outstanding individuals that only comes
past one in a lifetime.
Kind Regards
Lomar is a dedicated sportsman who always uses his talents to show extraordinary
sportsmanship. His fellow sportsmen benefit greatly from his leadership abilities, loyalty and
dedication.
He was a member of the learners' board and showed great initiative and loyalty. He was able to
establish a feeling of synergy among grade 12 learners with the organisation of different
projects and social activities.
We sincerely recommend this learner for any activity he might be interested in.
Our best wishes accompany him.

Dear Sir/Madam,
Lomar van Rooijen was a learner in my History class during his Grade 11 and 12 year at
Hoërskool Eldoraigne. I consider myself fortunate to have had a student of his calibre in
my class.
Lomar consistently received an A-symbol for every assessment task (test, essay as well
as research) that he handed in. He is academically highly capable. This is complemented
by the rare skill of being able to think and interpret information in a critical way. Lomar
was able to take the content taught in class and use his own critical-thinking skills in order
to provide the examiner with his viewpoints in a comprehensive and well-argued manner.
His final research task – which he received full marks for – is a testimony to this.
As a student, I found Lomar to be friendly, committed and involved in the daily activities
at the school. He was also greatly involved in class discussions on a daily basis. During
extra-mural activities he excelled at ice hockey. As a prefect he performed his duties
without complaint and one could sense his natural ability to lead without trying. Lomar
always treated his teachers with respect in class and there was never a day when his
work was incomplete. He is an exceptionally well-balanced young man.
I feel that any institution should view Lomar as an asset and I am sure that he will succeed
above and beyond the expectations. I fully give him a glowing recommendation, and wish
him well in his future endeavours.
Sincerely,
Maché Piek
