Construction Model Proposal: Major Development

 Objective

The purpose of the application “Major Development” is to help the user have a better

understanding of their personality. This app will give users and idea of how their interests may

apply to a future career. Once a career is found for the user it will list top schools for this major,

what classes to take, and a thorough job description. It will also inform the user of the salary that

comes with the job. It will be used as a way to help people find careers.

Target Audience

The general targeted audience for the application would be teenagers who are beginning

to wonder what future awaits for them. Specifically high school graduates and those who are

ready to begin a fulfilling career and return to school would benefit the most from the

functionalities of the app. Selecting an appropriate, fulfilling major or career can assist a student

in times of doubt and can give students an opportunity for new beginnings. This app could also

be useful for people who are looking to go back into school and do not have the same resources

as schools.

Projected Outcomes and Benefits

The outcome of this application would be hopefully a better under of self. If guidance

counselors may not be available in schools a student would be able to use this app and feel like

they have a better understanding of their future. It could also be used by people looking to go to

school, because they do not have access to counselors, or the free access to certain websites or

applications that high schoolers might have.

Description of Content
 The overall content will include information regarding various colleges and their

corresponding career paths. For example, if a student demonstrated personality traits and

interests related to a major and career related to education, information about education degrees

and nationally ranked schools for their superior performance in education would be listed. With

this being the primary purpose of the app, little else would be incorporated into the overall

theme. There will be images that correspond to the outcomes and will remain consistent to

maintain the flow of the application.
