Write answers to following questions:

Q1. Based on locality near to your permanent house, identify a problem.

I am from Delhi, Mayur vihar phase-2, and the major problem that our entire city is experiencing
is - Parking.

Since my house is very near to Connaught place, I have observed this problem very closely.

About 100's of people come to C.P everyday with a majority of the crowd travelling by their own
vehicle.

Since the parking is limited, and there are a no. Of blocks in the inner and outer circle of cp, the
person/driver is bound to take several rounds of the central circle in order to search for a suitable
place for their vehicle to be parked. The following are news clippings which prove the problem :-
Q2. What opportunity you can perceive from the above problem.

• The opportunity is to develop a parking tracker app

for the general public. With the help of this app, people
will be able to view the parking pattern of the entire cp
in just one screen and like any other movie booking app,
can come to the place where the vacancy is shown.

• There will be a tracker stone at every corner of the

parking spot on which, a QR code is placed.
• The person has to scan the qr code after the car is
parked, so that the car details are uploaded for any
future contact or mishap.
• The stone will also have sensors which will
automatically update the status of parking as "taken".
 • In this way, the parking problem of C.P. can be solved
and a lot of times of the crowd as well since, if they are
shown that no parking is available beforehand, they
may even choose other mode of transportation like
metro, auto, cab etc.

Q3. Who is the customer?

• The customers will be all the people who are willing to

travel by their own vehicle and are eventually struck
for hours in search of parking.
• These customers eventually tend to give upon the idea
for shopping or visiting the market and thus, being
frustrated with the idea of travelling in Delhi.

Q4. How is customer addressing the problem today?

Today, there are variety of ways with respect to which customers are dealing with the problem.
These are as follows :-

1. Wait! - The basic remedy that a customer thinks in such a situation is wait. Thus, he/ she will
have to revolve around the inner and outer circle of C.P., for multiple times in order to fetch a
decent spot for their car/bike to be parked.

2. Shift to other modes of transport- A lot of people, tend to park their cars at a distance or
other parking spots a little far from the place and tend to adopt other methods of transportation
like metro, bus, auto, cabs etc.

This eventually becomes hectic for them.

3. Giving up and returning back- A lot of customers, after taking many rounds of inner and
outer circle, tend to give up on their idea to shop/watch a movie/ have a dinner etc. and return
back to their places since searching for a parking spot in C.P. it is very time consuming, hectic
and tiring for the people.

Q5. What according to the customers are the main problem?

The following are the problems in terms of parking, according to the customers :-

1. Area- Since, C.P. is situated at the very heart of Delhi, the area is densely populated which
leads to traffic and problem with finding the parking spot.

2. Poor management- the parking staff in the blocks of C.P. is poorly managed. For eg :-

If a person has to take out their car, the parking staff has put the same gate for entry as well as
exit.

Thus, if a car has to leave, n number of cars who have to come inside to park are struck in line
and can't come until and unless the particular car leaves the parking.

Also, they allow more no. of cars to park, which is beyond their parking capacity, thus rejecting
them with the parking facility at the end and wasting their time.
