Uttama aparadha?

Uttama Aparadha [Ultimate offense]

Srila Prabhupada: Suppose I am here and somebody kills me, and if you do not protest, is that
very good business? People will be surprised that “So many disciples are there, and this man is
being killed, and nobody do anything?”
Srila Prabhupada Srimad Bhagavatm lecture. SB 1.8.47 Mayapur, West Bengal, India - October
27, 1974

Note: With the recent publication of “Kill Guru Become Guru,” many devotees, life members,
sympathizers of the Krsna Consciousness Movement [ISKCON] are curious as to what exactly
happened in 1977, specifically regarding the suspicious circumstances surrounding the departure
of His divine Grace AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, Founder-Acarya of ISKCON

Based upon the facts and evidence presented, there is a great aparadha which has been committed
against Srila Prabhupada and his divine mission.

Uttama-Aparadhis

Note: Based upon the documented evidence and research in the above referenced document, it is
now clear that some of the leading secretaries of His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada were
involved in potential criminal malfeasance against him. This is the highest aparadha or offense
against such a great soul. Srila Prabhupada explains below.

1
Uttama Aparadha – Greatest offense is Guror-avajna

Srila Prabhupāda: Dāsa. Not that name, but the name's servant. Dāsa. When one is named Kṛṣṇa,
Kṛṣṇa dāsa, he is servant of Kṛṣṇa. Not that Kṛṣṇa. If he thinks, "I have become Kṛṣṇa," that is
Māyāvāda. Kṛṣṇa dāsa. Go on.

Pradyumna: The next offense is guror avajñā, to neglect or disrespect the orders of the spiritual
master. Because the spiritual master is the external representation of the internal Kṛṣṇa, whatever
the spiritual master says is to be taken as exactly what Kṛṣṇa's desire is. Kṛṣṇa is within all of us
as Paramātmā, but because we cannot see Him, because He is adhokṣaja, or above our senses,
therefore that same Kṛṣṇa within appears without as the spiritual master, and he gives us
instructions, and these are taken to be the same as Kṛṣṇa's instructions. So, to disrespect the
orders of the guru is not to make any progress on the spiritual path. Na gatiḥ kuto 'pi. There
can be no gatiḥ, there can be no spiritual achievement without following the orders of the spiritual
master. Because the order of the spiritual master is the same as Kṛṣṇa's order....Srila Prabhupd
conversation, New Delhi, India - August 31, 1976

If you please your spiritual master, then you know that "I have pleased Kṛṣṇa." Yasya prasādād
bhagavat-prasādo yasyāprasādān na gatiḥ kuto 'pi: ** "If you displease your spiritual master,
then you are nowhere. Your position is lost."
Therefore, yesterday we were explaining the ten kinds of offenses. Out of ten kinds of offenses,
the serious offense is guror avajñā, disobedience of the order of guru. This is the verdict of the
śāstra. Srila Prabhupada Srimad Bhagavatam lecture SB 1.8.48 - October 28, 1974

Srila Prabhupāda: (Ignoring question) Because that is offense. Guror avajñā. First offense is
guror avajñā, defying the authority of guru. This is the first offense. So one who is offensive, how
he can make advance in chanting? He cannot make. Then everything is finished in the beginning.
Guror avajñā. Everything is there. If one is disobeying the spiritual master, he cannot remain
in the pure status of life. He cannot be śikṣā-guru or anything else. He is finished,
immediately. Guror avajñā śruti-śāstra-nindanam, nāmno balād yasya hi... You do not study
all these things. You become initiated. There are ten kinds of offenses. Do you have any regard for
these things or not? You must avoid these ten kinds of offenses. The first offense is to disobey the
orders of guru. That is first offense. So, if you are offensive, how you can become advanced by
chanting? That is also not possible.
Srila Prabhupada Bhagavad Gita lecture. Bg. 17. 1-3, Honolulu, Hawaii, USA - July 4, 1974

So this is the fact, that Krsna will never tolerate insult on a devotee. He will never tolerate. The
devotee may excuse, trnad api sunicena taror api sahisnuna. He may suffer. Just like Prahlada
Maharaja, he was suffering. His father was torturing him. He was suffering, .All right.' But Krsna
never tolerated. ' Oh, you have done so much. Now, it the time to kill him.' This is the process.
Krsna will tolerate. If you insult Krsna, He will tolerate, but if you insult His devotee, He will
never toleraliforniae. Then you are finished. Then you are finished." Srila Prabhupada
lecture, Los Angeles, California, USA December 2, 1973

2
Uttama Neglect

Note: The current situation is that many devotees still support the corrupt, deviated leadership
within the ISKCON organization. Srila Prabhupada has expressed his disagreement with this type
of silence while offense against Srila Prabhupada and deviation goes on. To remain silent and
tolerate the offense after hearing of such blatant offense is very damaging to the devotees.

Srila Prabhupada: But one who tolerates mischievous activity, he is also culprit. If you are
mischievous, you are criminal. But if you tolerate mischievous activities that is also criminal. Srila
Prabhupada conversation - May 3, 1963

Srila Prabhupāda: Yes, that's a fact. (laughter) So what the man says?
Devotee: They are being quiet. They are too afraid to say.
Srila Prabhupāda: That means they are accepting. When they are quiet... Quiet means...
Maunaṁ śamyati rakṣaṇam. If there is some argument and you remain quiet that means
indirectly you accept. Srila Prabhupada Room Conversation after Press Conference - Chicago,
Illinois, USA - July 9, 1975

Devotee: I don't think they have any argument.

Srila Prabhupāda: What argument? They are fools, rascals. What argument?
Devotee: Yesterday they did not know what to say.
Srila Prabhupāda: Yes. Nobody could say against me.(?) If they remain silent, that means
they have accepted. I charge you that "You are thief," and if you don't protest, then you are
thief. If you are not thief, immediately you will: "How you say? Why you have said?" There will
be fight. But if you remain silent, that proves that you are thief. So, they could not give us any
counterargument. Therefore, they accepted.
Devotee: Their biggest problem is that there isn't any counterargument.
Srila Prabhupāda: Yes. As soon as I told them, "Who is there without father?" 1Srila
Prabhupada Morning Walk Conversation – Perth, Australia - May 17, 1975

Note: The duty of every devotee is to avoid such severe offense. One should not cooperate with the
Uttama-Aparadhis, their apologists, defenders, and acquiescers. One should not hear their so-
called lectures, classes or so-called position papers Neither should anyone watch their so-called
videos.

No one should read or purchase their adulterated, deviated books under the guise of so-called
revised and improved editions of Srila Prabhupada’s books.

“So, in the parampara system in that disciplic succession, you will find no change...you cannot
change anything." Srila Prabhupada lecture, December I, 1996, New York, NY, USA.

3
One should not at any time tolerate blasphemy and insults against Lord Viṣṇu or His devotees. A
devotee is generally very humble and meek, and he is reluctant to pick a quarrel with anyone. Nor
does he envy anyone. However, a pure devotee immediately becomes fiery with anger when he
sees that Lord Viṣṇu or His devotee is insulted. This is the duty of a devotee. Although a devotee
maintains an attitude of meekness and gentleness, it is a great fault on his part if he remains silent
when the Lord or His devotee is blasphemed. Srimad-Bhagavatam "The Creation of the Fourth
Order"The Story of King Vena” SB 4.14.32

Duty of very Indian.

Note: Srila Prabhupada, as India’s foremost ambassador of Vedic knowledge and the greatest
exponent of Krishna Consciousness in the western world, travelled all over the world and
established 108 Krishna temples He translated classic Vedic texts such as Bhagavad Gita,
Srimad-Bhagavatam, Sri Isopanishad. He has several tie s explained that5 it is the duty of every
Indian to present the teachings of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.

Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu = [1486-1532 has explained \

bhārata-bhūmite haila manuṣya janma yāra

janma sārthaka kari' kara para-upakāra

"One who has taken his birth as a human being in the land of India [Bhārata-varṣa] should make
his life successful and work for the benefit of all other people.

The magnanimity of Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu is expressed in this very important verse.
Although He was born in Bengal and Bengalis therefore have a special duty toward Him, Śrī
Caitanya Mahāprabhu is addressing not only Bengalis but all the inhabitants of India. It is in the
land of India that actual human civilization can be developed.

Human life is especially meant for God realization, as stated in the Vedānta-sūtra: athāto brahma-
jijñāsā

Anyone who takes birth in the land of India (Bhārata-varṣa) has the special privilege of being able
to take advantage of the instruction and guidance of the Vedic civilization. He automatically
receives the basic principles of spiritual life, for 99.9% of the Indian people, even simple village
farmers and others who are neither educated nor sophisticated, believe in the transmigration of the
soul, believe in past and future lives, believe in God and naturally want to worship the Supreme
Personality of Godhead or His representative. These ideas are the natural inheritance of a person
born in India. India has many holy places of pilgrimage, such as Gayā, Benares, Mathurā, Prayāga,
Vṛndāvana, Haridvāra, Rāmeśvaram and Jagannātha Purī, and still people go there by the hundreds
and thousands. Although the present leaders of India are influencing the people not to believe in
God, not to believe in a next life and not to believe in a distinction between pious and impious life,
and they are teaching them how to drink wine, eat meat and become supposedly civilized, people
are nevertheless afraid of the four activities of sinful life-namely, illicit sex, meat-eating,

4
intoxication and gambling-and whenever there is a religious festival, they gather together by the
thousands. We have actual experience of this. Whenever the Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement holds
a saṅkīrtana festival in a big city like Calcutta, Bombay, Madras, Ahmedabad or Hyderabad,
thousands of people come to hear. Sometimes we speak in English, but even though most people
do not understand English, they nevertheless come to hear us. Even when imitation incarnations
of Godhead speak, people gather in the thousands, for everyone who is born in the land of India
has a natural spiritual inclination and is taught the basic principles of spiritual life; they merely
need to be a little more educated in the Vedic principles. Therefore Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu said,
janma sārthaka kari' kara para-upakāra: if an Indian is educated in the Vedic principles, he is
able to perform the most beneficial welfare activity for the entire world.

At present, for want of Kṛṣṇa consciousness, or God consciousness, the entire world is in darkness,
having been covered by the four principles of sinful life-meat-eating, illicit sex, gambling and
intoxication. Therefore, there is a need for vigorous propaganda to educate people to refrain from
sinful activities. This will bring peace and prosperity; the rogues, thieves and debauchees will
naturally decrease in number, and all of human society will be God conscious.

The practical effect of our spreading the Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement all over the world is that
now the most degraded debauchees are becoming the most elevated saints. This is only one Indian's
humble service to the world. If all Indians had taken to this path, as advised by Lord Caitanya
Mahāprabhu, India would have given a unique gift to the world, and thus India would have been
glorified. Now, however, India is known as a poverty-stricken country, and whenever anyone from
America or another opulent country goes to India, he sees many people lying by the footpaths for
whom there are not even provisions for two meals a day. There are also institutions collecting
money from all parts of the world in the name of welfare activities for poverty-stricken people, but
they are spending it for their own sense gratification. Now, on the order of Śrī Caitanya
Mahāprabhu, the Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement has been started, and people are benefiting from
this movement.

Therefore, it is now the duty of the leading men of India to consider the importance of this
movement and train many Indians to go outside of India to preach this cult. People will accept it,
there will be cooperation among the Indian people and among the other people of the world, and
the mission of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu will then be fulfilled. Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu will then
be glorified all over the world, and people will naturally be happy, peaceful and prosperous, not
only in this life but also in the next, for as stated in the Bhagavad-gītā, anyone who understands
Kṛṣṇa, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, will very easily get salvation, or freedom from the
repetition of birth and death, and go back home, back to Godhead. Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu
therefore requests every Indian to become a preacher of His cult to save the world from disastrous
confusion.

This is not only the duty of Indians but the duty of everyone, and we are very happy that American
and European boys and girls are seriously cooperating with this movement. One should know
definitely that the best welfare activity for all of human society is to awaken man's God
consciousness, or Kṛṣṇa consciousness. Therefore, everyone should help this great movement.
This is confirmed in Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, Tenth Canto, Twenty-second Chapter, verse 35, which
is next quoted in Caitanya-caritāmṛta.CC Adi Lila 9.41

5
Note: It is thus the duty of every Indian to defend the honor and reputation of Srila Prabhupada.
To neglect this would be the greatest offense.

Srila Prabhupada: Sanātana Gosvāmī, one of the big ācāryas of Gauḍīya sampradāya, he has
also said that avaiṣṇava gurur na sa syāt. Sa. He says that... I forget that verse That "A person..."
Pūta-hari-kathāmṛtaṁ śravaṇaṁ na kartavyam. Avaiṣṇava-mukhodgīrṇa-pūta-hari-kathāmṛtaṁ
śravaṇaṁ na kartavyam. He says that "You do not try to hear from a person who is avaiṣṇava
hari-kathāmṛtam." The hari-kathā, the message of Kṛṣṇa like Bhagavad-gītā and other,
Bhāgavata, Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, you should not hear from a person who is not a Vaiṣṇava. In the
Bhāgavata also it is said, satāṁ prasaṅgāt mama vīrya-saṁvido bhavanti hṛt-karṇa-rasāyanāḥ-
kathāḥ. When we hear from sad-vekti(?), or Vaiṣṇava, then we get real effect. So, if one argues
that "Hari-kathā is pure. Even a avaiṣṇava speaks, what is the harm there?" so Sanātana
Gosvāmī said in connection with this that śravaṇaṁ na kartavyaṁ sarpocchiṣṭaṁ payo yathā.
Just like milk: it is very nice food, but if it is touched with the lips of a snake, it becomes
poisonous. Therefore, it is concluded that we have to hear the transcendental message of
Kṛṣṇa from a realized soul, a devotee. Srila Prabhupada Srimad-Bhagavatam Lecture SB
6.1.15, Nellore, Andhra Pradesha, India - January 8, 1976

Srila Prabhupada: Śrī Sūta Gosvāmī, simply by his uttering yathādhītam and yathā-mati, and
therefore he was very glad to congratulate him in ecstasy. No learned man should be willing to
hear a person who does not represent the original ācārya. Srimad-Bhagavatam 1.4.1

Uttama-Obstacle.

Note: The reluctance of many devotees to avoid protesting the maha-aparadha against Srila
Prabhupada is very detrimental to anyone acquiescing and still supporting the deviated and
corrupt leadership of ISKCON.

This is one of the biggest factors hampering our advancement and growth individually and
collectively.

Srilk Prabhupada: There was a poetry by Rabindranath Tagore. The purport of the poetry is
that one who is mischievous, he is culprit. But one who tolerates mischievous activity, he is
also culprit. If you are mischievous, you are criminal. But if you tolerate mischievous activities
that is also criminal. Challenge these rascals. Srila Prabhupada Morning Walk, Los Angeles,
California, USA --May 3, 1973

Note: Each devotee, life member, sympathizer, and anyone who associates with ISKCON should
actively protest and do their part, however little or large, in dealing with this maha-aparadha
otherwise3 one will be contaminated.

Unauthorized Adulterated Books

6
Note:” The first point of action should be not to buy, read or distribute any of the unauthorized,
adulterated books which have been masquerading by the ISKCON GBC as the original books of
Srila Prabhupada. They are not his original books.

...We are therefore presenting, we do not change. Why should you change. What right you have
to change? Bhagavad-Gita is a book of authority and if I make my own interpretation, then where
is the authority? Can you change the lawbook according to your interpretation? Then what is the
meaning of that lawbook? That is not lawbook. You cannot change. Similarly, if you accept
Bhagavad-Gita as the book of authority, you cannot change the meaning. THAT IS NOT
ALLOWED. What right? If you have got some opinion, if you have got some philosophy, you can
write in your own book. Why you are, I mean to say, killing others and yourself by interpreting
Bhagavad-Gita? You give your own thesis in a different way. But these people they take advantage
of the popularity of Bhagavad-Gita and interpret in a different way according to their own whims.
Srila Prabhupada lecture, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesha, India - April 27, 1974

"We cannot water down the philosophy to make it more palatable. Our books must remain
as they are." Srila Prabhupada letter, March 31, 1977

"One cannot change the words of the authority. If you believe in Lord Jesus Christ [in our case
Srila Prabhupada] you cannot change to your convenience." Srila Prabhupada lecture, Los
Angeles, CA. USA- May 8, 1973

“In the words of God, there is no question of changing. You cannot change. As soon as you
change immediately it is material. It has nothing to do with spiritual world. That is nowadays
happening. Which edition of Christianity? There are so many. Therefore, it is, the purport of
Christianity is lost. That is lost” Srila Prabhupada lecture, Paris, France - August 5, 1976

"If you concoct, 'I am more intelligent than my Guru,' 'I can make additions and alterations,'
then you are finished."(64) Srila Prabhupada lecture, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - July
4, 1975

Uttama Solution

Note The next point of action is to completely avoid hearing or listening to any of their lectures,
classes or video presentations. The current leaders of ISKCON do not represent the original
acarya, Srila Prabhupada.

Each devotee, life member and sympathizers should do their part by first actively chanting hare
Krishna maha-mantra without offense, reading Srila Prabhupada’s original books and avoiding
any association with the deviated misleaders of ISKCON.

7
Srila Prabhupada: One should not at any time tolerate blasphemy and insults against Lord Viṣṇu
or His devotees. A devotee is generally very humble and meek, and he is reluctant to pick a quarrel
with anyone. Nor does he envy anyone. However, a pure devotee immediately becomes fiery with
anger when he sees that Lord Viṣṇu or His devotee is insulted. This is the duty of a devotee.
Although a devotee maintains an attitude of meekness and gentleness, it is a great fault on his part
if he remains silent when the Lord or His devotee is blasphemed. Srimad-Bhagavatam "The
Creation of the Fourth Order"The Story of King Vena SB 4.14.32

Srila Prabhupada: Śrī Sūta Gosvāmī, simply by his uttering yathādhītam and yathā-mati, and
therefore he was very glad to congratulate him in ecstasy. No learned man should be willing to
hear a person who does not represent the original ācārya. Srimad-Bhagavatam 1.4.1

Lord Caitanya, therefore, advised that one be very careful not to offend Vaiṣṇavas. He compared
offenses toward a Vaiṣṇava to a mad elephant. As a mad elephant can do anything horrible, so
when a person offends a Vaiṣṇava he can perform any abominable action. Srimad-Bhagavatam
4.2.19

How to become free from any involvement from this Uttama-Aparadha and the Uttama-
Aparadhis?

One may very easily practice chanting and hearing the holy name of the Lord and thus become
ecstatic in spiritual life. Padma Purāṇa states:

nāmāparādha-yuktānāṁ
nāmāny eva haranty agham
aviśrānti-prayuktāni
tāny evārtha-karāṇi ca

Even if one chants the Hare Kṛṣṇa mahā-mantra offensively, one can avoid offenses by
continuously chanting without deviation. One who becomes accustomed to this practice will
always remain in a pure transcendental position, untouchable by sinful reactions. Śukadeva
Gosvāmī especially requested King Parīkṣit to note this fact very carefully. There is no profit,
however, in executing the Vedic ritualistic ceremonies. Srimad-Bhagavatam 6.3.32

Devotee: Neglecting the order of the spiritual master.

Srila Prabhupāda: Yes. We are daily singing, yasya prasādād bhagavat-prasāda. By pleasing
the spiritual master, we please the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Therefore, if His order is
disobeyed, if he is displeased, then yasyāprasādād na gatiḥ kuto 'pi. If he is displeased, then he
has no shelter. He's thrown in the wilderness. Therefore, this should be strictly followed. Then
next? Srila Prabhupada initiation lecture, Los Angeles, California, USA - July 3, 1970

By taking the few steps described above, we will gradually become free from the serious aparadha
committed against His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada.
