NARRATIVE REPORT ON NATIONAL READING MONTH

To promote the love for reading and to celebrate the diversity of learners
and culture through reading, the Department of Education is spearheading the
nationwide celebration of the 2019 National Reading Month (NRM) this
November.
Issuing DepEd memorandum no. 158 series of 2019 with the theme
“Umunlad at Bumasa”, Balingasay Elementary School joined the national
observation of the annual National Reading Month this November 27, 2019.
Balingasay Elementary School held its own celebration of the Reading
Month. Teacher Richen gladly shared a book for children who are underprivileged
but has great interest in reading. And also teachers invited guest storyteller from
the higher grade level who prepared interesting and values-oriented stories.
Other pupils help slow-readers and other learners with reading difficulties by
adopting a child and help him/her succeed in reading through the “Help a
Reader”. All learners, teachers, and school personnel participated in the
synchronized reading.
