buttons:

OMEGA64 Installation Guide
AFPELEVATOR___________________________________________________

Commissioning in this mode is possible by two means

below
1. In case all the SPANEL – L7 boards at all the floors have only one button in
down direction and one button for up direction, (Picture 1), communication
terminals on two present SPANEL – L7 boards on each floor are connected
to each other to send a hall request to both elevators.
2. SPANEL – L7 boards of each elevator at each floor have separate call
buttons, (Picture 2), in which case too, both communication terminals of the
both SPANEL – L7 boards at each floor are to be connected to each other
for the call request to be send to the adjacent elevator too.

(Picture 1)

This is useful when, for both elevators

at each floor, there is only one call
button. Meaning that there is only one
down button and one up button
present at each floor which are
connected to one of the SPANEL –
L7 boards and by connecting
communication terminals of both
SPANEL – L7 boards at each floor,
pressing of either button commands
both of the SPANEL boards.

OMEGA64 INSTALLATION GUIDE:

Follow these instructions after the panel installation in the hoist way:
Put EC16 in inspection mode ( use REV-NORMAL switch )
Connect the main power ( R,S,T ) to OMEGA controller panel .
1
( If the Green LED of the phase control is off , change two phases sequence )
Check direction & speed contactors sequence by pressing revision up (RVU) &
revision down (RVD) . To correct direction of movement, change the sequence of
2
motor wire (U,V) & (U1,V1) . To correct speed, check fast & slow motor winding and
correct its connection.
Carcodec board is installed on cabin and makes all the connections related to travel
3
cable from carcodec terminals to OMEGA64 terminals.
Connect SLF,LEF,CA1,CAN,REV,FTO,4BS to G22 ( terminal ) &
CBN,CB1,68,69,66,TP4 to G90 and connect OPL,CLL,DO from carcodec to G22 .
4
Then, reset EC16 once in order to function in inspection mode. After wiring each
part, put it in related circuit for more safety.
Install CA1 & CAN (normally closed contact limit switches). Then, according to
5
slowing down methods, set the software on first or second flag.
In normal mode, CAN & CA1 LEDs should be off after slowing down until complete
6 stopping; otherwise, if the panel is reset after stopping in last floors (up/down), it
may malfunction for recognition.
Consider a proper length for SLF&LEF flags. At least 15Cm for SLF and 20Cm for
7
LEF should be installed for 1m/s elevators.
The distance between LEVEL flag & SLOW DOWN flag should be 80-100cm. If
8
more, the stop timer functions & if less, leveling is not possible while stopping.
Pay attention to FTO & 4BS connection to avoid defective short-circuit .You should
9
use G22 as common in signal in FTO & 4BS wiring.

The Usage method of magnet sensors:

Slow Down Flag

Level Flag

There are two kinds of magnets & sensors:

- LEVEL FLAG
- SLOW DOWN FLAG
A level flag is used for each floor & there are two slow down flags between two
levels.
In EC16 controller panel, SLF/LEF sensors are normally closed ( NC ) .

The usage method of photo magnets:

1- The Magnet power supply is from

G22 terminals +24 and G22.
+24 2- Use the COM terminal as common
and the NC terminal as close contact.

Using magnet for slowing down & leveling:

Slowing down for 2–speed motor (UP TO 1m/s) is done in a distance
of 90 cm, before the selected floor level. After reaching the level flag,
the mechanical brake will be closed & the motor will stop.

The first method:

The LEVEL&SLF sensors encounter the related flags, independently.
A LEVEL flag is used for each floor and two SLOW DOWN flags are
used between two floors.
This method is not proper where the distance between two floors, as
slowing down for that special floor is different from others.
By setting this method, slowing down for all floors is done by the first
flag or the second one.

Then, by pushing "K4" button, you can enter OMEGA main menus (Ø MENUS)).

O1- FLOOR CODING :

When OMEGA is adjusted in serial mode, SPANEL_L7 boards should have

particular codes. The code indicates the floor where SPANEL_L7 is installed.
So,the lowest floor code is always "1" & upper floors are "2","3","4",….
You Should enter "O1" menu to specify SPANEL_L7 code.

O1- FLOOR CODING

CHANGE FLOOR CODE

For changing the code, down pushbutton connected to SPANEL_L7 board should
be pressed for 5 seconds. Here, up & down LEDs are on simultaneously and
SPANEL_L7 will exit "OUT OF SERVICE" mode. Now you can change
SPANEL_L7 code. By pushing SPANEL_L7 pushbutton, the code number will
increase. For saving the new code, pushbutton should be pushed for 5 seconds
once more, to light off up & down LEDs. Here, SPANEL_L7 will go to "OUT OF
SERVICE" mode and the saved code will be displayed. None of the SPANEL_L7
boards code should be the same. OMEGA software prevents saving repetitive
code. In case the code is repetitive, SPANEL_L7 will be blinking and will not save
new code and stay in code changing mode. (Code changing mode is the mode in
which up & down LEDs are on, simultaneously)

"FORCE" MODE ADJUSTMENT:

By adjusting STATUS: 02 in a desired floor, "FORCE" mode can be performed
there. Namely, the elevator responses that floor call, without regarding duplex
evaluation.
This setting is used when a floor pushbutton for one of the elevators is adjusted on
"INACTIVE" mode in duplex service. Here, the other elevator should be set on
"FORCE" mode.
For example, in the figure below, HALL pushbutton in floor 1 is set on "FORCE"
mode. The elevator will response to floor 1 pushbutton, without regarding duplex
evaluation.

STATUS:02
HALL KEY=01<
ACTIVE=0 INACTIVE=1
FORCE=2 PRIORITY=3

"PRIORITY" MODE ADJUSTMENT:

By adjusting STATUS: 03 in a desired floor, "PRIORITY" mode can be performed
there. Namely, the elevator responses the desired floor call and cancels other
floors requests.

STATUS:03

3- DOOR SYSTEM:

3- DOOR SYSTEM: 01
0:S 1:SS 2:FU 4:TYS

Car door is controlled through O1&C1 relays on carcodec. In this parameter,

you can set the function of these relays.
0:S = O1 & C1 relays will be off ( for cars without door , used in old
Systems), Not compatible with EN-81.
1:SS = C1 relay will be on while door closing and car movement . After
Stopping C1 relay cuts and O1 relay is activated for door opening.
2:FU = C1 relay is activated to close door at start and will be off during car
Movement.
O1 relay is activated for door opening.
4:TYS = It is used just for cars with THYSSEN doors.

To adjust number of car doors, set parameter 34-CAR DOOR NUM.

4- MOVE TIME:

4- MOVE TIME: 31 SEC

PROGRAM MODE

Set this parameter to define max. time for longest travel .

According to EN-81, move time is obtained:
‘number of floors * distance between two floors + 10 SEC.'
Example: If distance between two close floors is 3 meters for 6 floors, move
time is : 6*3+10=28 SEC.
Longer distance between floors should be considered.

5- LIGHT TIME:
5- LIGHT TIME: 45 SEC
PROGRAM MODE

In this parameter, you can define a delay for cabin light relay.
Cabin light is supplied through CL terminal. Cabin light will be off after this
delay.

6- SERVICE TYPE:
6- SERVICE TYPE =00
DOWN=00 FULL=01 PUSH=02 CS=03

• 00: Down Collective Service is usually used in residential buildings.

• 01: Full Collective Service is usually used in high traffic buildings.
• 02: Pushbutton Collective Service is usually used just for cabins
with CAR LIFTING applications , where in each call , cabin responds
to only one service and as long as that service has not ended, other
new calls remain unanswered.
• 03: Collective Selective Service is usually used in office buildings
with high traffic.

OMEGA64 can support up to 32 floors as collective-selective. In cs mode

with parallel connection between OMEGA & SPANEL, OMEGA64-EXT
(extension board) is required to be installed besides OMEGA64 board;
otherwise, (with serial connection), OMEGA-EXT is not needed.
In CS there is a bidirectional call button (one for up direction and another one for
down direction) . If the user pushes the button in the direction the cabin is moving,
the call will be responded, when the cabin reaches that floor but if the call request
is the opposite of the cabin direction, the call will be stored in the memory and the
cabin will respond it when it comes back. In other words, Cabin only responds to
the call requests that are the same direction that it has.

7- PARK FLOOR:

7- PARK FLOOR:0
PROGRAM MODE

After the last service and by passing the time adjustable in parameter 5-
LIGHT TIME, the elevator starts moving to the defined floor in this parameter
and will remain there until other service is requested.

8- BASE FLOOR:

8- BASE FLOOR : 01

In this parameter, you can define the situation of the floors below base floor
against base floor.
For example, if there are two floors below base floor, the controller should
respond to the lowest floor first, then to the upper floors. So, 8-BASE
FLOOR=3.
Car Requests have higher priority.

9- DOOR PARK MODE:

9- DOOR PARK MODE :00

CLOSE :01 OPEN : 00

Cabin door status in park floor is set in this parameter.

10- SLOW DOWN FLAG :

10- SLOW DOWN FLAG :00

FRST=1 SCND=0 PROG=2

It is required to put two flags between each two close floors. Changing fast &
slow contactors in 2-speed systems is concerned with this parameter.

In 2-speed 1m/s motors with a separated fast & slow winding, car speed is
reduced by activating slow winding.
If the distance between floors is 3m, choose 00: SCND.
For 3VF systems, choose 01: FRST
If the distance between different floors needs different techniques for
slowing down, then; 10-SLOW DOWN FLAG=02. Refer O9-FLAG NUMBER

11- LEV DELAY :

11- LEV DELAY:00

*100mSEC

Usually it is not necessary to change this parameter.

A fixed delay can be set for LEVEL sensor input.
If a fixed changing in all flags is required instead of this changing, you can
set a delay for LEV input. OMEGA64 will cut motor contactors after LEV
DELAY while stopping.

12- U/D DELAY:

12- U/D DELAY : 00

*200mSEC

This parameter is used just in 3VF systems .

To achieve a soft stop in 3VF systems, an adjustable delay is provided.
Direction (UP/DOWN) output will be cut after this delay while slow speed is
off at stop mode.

13- DUPLEX STATUS:

13- DUPLEX STSTUS : 01

MASTER : 01 SLAVE : 00

In duplex mode, one of the two controllers is known as MASTER & the other
one is as SLAVE. When two elevators have the same condition for a
service, the MASTER one will respond. Therefore, the user will set MASTER
or SLAVE in this parameter.

14- RESET SPEED :

14- RESET SPEED :01

SLOW =00 FAST=01 NONE =02

Reset speed can be adjusted in this parameter.

By pushing RESET button or power supply cutting, OMEGA64 function
mode will be reset. Then motor starts to meet CA1/CAN (in normal mode)

Consider proper distance for CA1 & CAN limit switches to avoid undesired
safety chain interruption in initialize mode.

Car will start moving with fast speed to the lowest floor. By meeting each
slow down flag , " S " , each level flag , " L " , CA1 limit switch , " 1 " & CAN
limit switch , " N " is appeared .

Before doing system testing, control the distance between CA1&CAN to the
floor level. (In 3VF systems, the distance should be at least 180 Cm. In 2-
speed 1m/s motors without 3VF systems, CA1, CAN limit switches should
be put 100-120 Cm before first & last floor).

17- LEV U DEL:

23- DO TIME :

23- DO TIME :05 SEC

PROGRAM MODE

Maximum permitted time for the car door opening is adjustable in this
parameter. Exact setting of this parameter can prevent the undesired delay
of the door opening command.

If the time in parameter "23.DO TIME" is less than the time needed for the
complete opening of the door and there is service request, the door closing
command will be issued.
Therefore, the risk of strike between the door and the passengers is
possible; therefore, this parameter should be set according to the door real
opening time.

24- 7 SEG STANDBY:

24- 7 SEG STANDBY

ACT = 01 INACT=00

When LIGHT TIME in parameter 5 is finished, the car will go to standby

mode and 7 seg will be dim until next request.
In case of activating this parameter, if 7 seg in LCD panels goes off, choose
INACT=00.

25- RELEVELING :

25- RELEVELING = 00
ACT = 01 INACT = 00

Activating "RELEVELING" Parameter is possible in parameter 25 by the

user, which is used in hydraulic systems. It happens in these cases:
1- In hydraulic systems, if the car is stopped for a long time, it may go
down from the level floor because of falling the oil pressure or the jack
leakage. By activating this parameter after the LIGHT TIME, if the car
is not at the level floor, the running command will be issued in up
direction with slow speed until the car leveling.
2- If the car is not at the floor level and the LIGHT TIME is not over, the
releveling will be activated for the mentioned floor by activating the
related pushbutton.
3- Leveling of the car by moving slowly to up direction in case of
stopping between two floors.

After activating "the password", "PASSWORD ACTIVE" is displayed on the

LCD.

How to inactivate the "password":

For inactivating password, it is enough to reenter the selected password into
the parameter 26.If the entered password is correct, "0000" is displayed on
LCD. Otherwise, the phrase "WRONG PASSWORD 44" is displayed.

After reactivating the "password", the optional password should be reentered

in parameter 26 and ACTIVE=01 should be selected.

28- FTF DELAY:

28- FTF DELAY : 00*100 mSEC

FLOOR TO FLOOR DELAY

Just in 3VF (control speed) systems.

Do not set this parameter in 2-speed systems.
Use this parameter in 3VF systems in order to decrease creep speed
between two close floors.
When you set parameter 28-FTF DELAY=10, then there is 10*
100mSEC=1SEC delay in slowing down just in two close floors. It will cause
shorter creep distance.

Set this parameter according to the shortest floor in 3VF systems.

Set this parameter correctly; otherwise, the car may not stop at the desired
level flag.

29- REV DELAY:

29- REV DELAY: 00 * 200 mSEC

REV STOP U/D DELAY

Just in 3VF Gearless systems.

Do not set this parameter in 2-speed systems.
In most gearless motors, the simultaneous disconnection of motor & brake
contactors in inspection mode could cause the car reverse running. By
setting the delay time between speed & direction contactors in this
parameter, you will reach soft movement in inspection mode.

Set this parameter correctly; otherwise, it may cause the car movement
despite of the moving command disconnection in inspection mode.

point of setting off the FTO sensor. When this happens , the moving
cabin will stop when reaches the immediate next floor & will remain
there until cooling the motor.

03
 ERROR IN 4BS
This message will be received if 4BS micro switch stops operating.
Cause:
If the mechanical brake does not operate at most 1sec after the main
contactors function, the brake micro switch feedback does not reach
the controller and consecutively, the panel commands disconnection of
the contactors thus preventing the motor burn out.

04
 CA1 IS ACTIVE
This message will be received after the cabin reaches CA1 micro
switch in the inspection mode and in fact is a warning sign.

In inspection mode, the cabin will not go lower by touching CA1 micro
switch.

05
 CAN IS ACTIVE
This message will be received after the cabin reaches CAN micro
switch in the inspection mode and in fact is a warning sign.

In inspection mode, the cabin will not go upper by touching CAN micro
switch.

06
 FAULT: CA1 IS OPEN

permanently been disconnected and the cabin recognizes CAN
disconnection after reaching CA1. (When this happens, the cabin
indicator also malfunctions.)

08
 ONE DOOR IS OPEN

At the start of the cabin movement, terminal "66" is checked & if the
simple door of one of the floors is open, this error is displayed on LCD.

09
 ERROR LE-F& SL-F
This message means that both level and slow down sensors have
simultaneously gone into operation. This error is checked at the start of
the cabin movement and the cabin will not move until the error is
removed.
Cause:
The common wire of the sensors (photo magnets) is disconnected or
malfunctioned.

10
 Check door lock,68
If the floor lock does not latch, after the door magnet functions, the
missing return signal from 68 input will cause the above message to
appear.

11
 CA1 & CAN ACTIVE
This error is observed when either both micro switches have started
operating Simultaneously or their common wire has been
disconnected.

12
 OVL = OVER LOAD
This message would appear if over load micro switch functions.
When this happens , the cabin will not move , until the problem is
removed.

13
 FIRE
This message is a warning from fire alarm systems in the building and
causes the cabin move to the FIRE FLOOR from any place located.

here , the cabin pushbuttons are active & the cabin will not give service
to the floor pushbuttons.

14
 MOVEMENT TIMEOVER
After the cabin movement, if slow down flag is not observed, the error
can be because of the following malfunctionings:
1–The motor’s spin while the cabin is stationary. This is a very
serious problem and should be attended immediately in order
to decrease the damage of the motor.
2– The slow down sensor has not recognized the flag on one of
the floors & the problem will be removed by changing the slow
down sensor or adjusting the flag for a particular floor.

15
 LEVEL TIMEOVER
If the level flag is not observed after slowing down, the problem can be
because of the following three reasons:
1 – Slow down magnet is malfunctioning.
2 – The level flag for that particular floor needs to be adjusted.
3 – Slowing down is not adjusted correctly with the first /second
flag or the level flag /magnet is not located in its place.

16
 ERROR IN LE-F
If the cabin observes the level flag as soon as slowing down , the
above message is appeared. This problem could be because of the
level magnet malfunctioning or the very small distance between SLF &
LEF.

17
 MOTOR MOVE INVERS
The above message is received when the cabin encounters the up
direction limit switch (CAN) instead of the down direction limit switch
(CA1) while moving down for recognition. This error indicates the
" reverse phase " & the wrong direction of the cabin movement.

19
 ERROR IN START
The above message is shown if the elevator faces any problem in the
beginning of operation.

OMEGA64-EXT:
OMEGA64 has the capability to support the elevators with 2 to 16 floors via
H1…H16 terminals in parallel mode & up to 32 floors as serial via SPANEL board
without using OMEGA64-EXT. However, for 16 to 32 floors as parallel, OMEGA-
EXT (extension board) is to be installed besides OMEGA & communicate with the
main board via MODBUS terminal.
OMEGA-EXT can communicate with OMEGA64 & other extension boards as serial
by using CAT5 cable (1m) via MODBUS TERMINAL.

OMEGA-EXT is needed to be used in the following three cases:

1- Collective-selective mode as parallel for 2…16 floors.

2- Collective-down mode as parallel for 16…32 floors.
3- Collective-selective mode as parallel for 16…32 floors.
