OBJECTIVES:

 Identify the features of manuscript speech;

I. Introduction

A manuscript speech is an oral statement that is written down and delivered just like it is.

Each word that is written down is considered as being of paramount importance and it help to build a
connection with the listener.

II. Activity

 By partner. Assign a reader and a listener .The task of the reader is to read aloud the following
lines from Marianne Williamson’s A Return To Love .
 Base in the first activity, tick the column that determines how often you practice what the
statement say.
 Watch the video of Miriam Santiago’s speech titled “A Date with destiny” in six group.

III. Definition of Terms

 Contemplation- the action of looking thoughtfully at something for a long time.

 Glued- To cause to be focused on or directed at something
 Podium- a small platform on which a person may stand to be seen by an audience, as
when making a speech or conducting an orchestra.

V. Activity

 Look for television news program transcripts ,then deliver a three-minute manuscript using one
transcript that you selected. Perform like a newscaster.
 Deliver a message based on the quotes assigned that will inspire an audience your age.
