Business Case:

To implement Agile Supply Chain Model to ensure increased Responsiveness, Competency, Flexibility
and quickness in the overall manufacturing process aimed at improving customer satisfaction
through quick responsiveness in meeting the order delivery.

Business Requirements:

1. Need to implement complete computerized order/ invoice generation solution and robotics
to pick the order to ensure they are put in the delivery pipeline. This would reduce
dependency on conventional channels like phone or emails which requires manual
intervention to accept the order
2. Need to have local vendors for supply of raw materials to reduce dependency on single
supplier for raw materials
3. Need to implement agile supply chain model in which manufacturing is based on daily orders
placed and captured through computerized systems. This should replace the conventional
manufacturing process using batches to improve response to flexible market demands
4. Need to outsource manufacturing of certain products which may not be core competency of
the company and focus only on products on which company has expertise.
5. Need to deliver orders through franchises in addition to online and owned stores in markets.
This is aimed at market penetration.
6. Need to gather customer feedback and inputs via surveys and feedback forms to understand
position of company against competitors and perform SWOT analysis to identify
opportunities for growth and improve pain areas.

Use Case 1 - Order generation through online mode:

Actors: Customer, Online Portal, Payment processing application, messaging application

Customer visits online portal to place order

Customer sees the availability of the product that is required

Online portal shows the time required for the product to be delivered based on availability in
warehouse or manufacturing cycle if not available in warehouse

Customer chooses the product he/ she desires to buy

Customer confirms the delivery address for the product

System asks customer regarding payment options

Customer places the order after verifying the order and accepting the approx. delivery time shown
by system and selecting the payment mode
Customer makes full payment or chooses to make partial payment and balance on delivery

System generates a tracking number and invoice to customer

System confirms order has been placed and sends a confirmation note to customer mobile and email

Customer exits the system

Use Case 2 – Order delivery

Actors: Warehouse management staff, Production facility, Suppliers, Delivery Partner

Robotics picks up the order placed by Customer on real time basis

Nearest warehouse inventory list is checked to ensure if product is available

Alternate Flow1: If product is available

Notification sent to warehouse to package the product and address details of the customer

Product is packaged and made available to delivery partner to get the product delivered

System tracks the parcel delivery location through GPS and provides tracking facility to customer

Once product is delivered, Delivery Partner sends confirmation to the Seller

Seller sends confirmation to customer via mobile and email

Alternate Flow 2: If product is not available

Robotics sends notification to local manufacturing unit to produce the product

Manufacturing unit collects all the order from robotics for the particular day and calculates the raw
materials required

If Raw materials that remain available after manufacturing the products fall below threshold,
notification is sent to local vendors for procurement of more materials to ensure future deliveries
can be supported

Manufacturing unit produces the order for the previous day

Manufactured products are sent to local ware houses via tracking number

Product reaches warehouse and gets packaged for delivery

Robotics alerts delivery partner to collect the product the deliver to the customer

System tracks the parcel delivery location through GPS and provides tracking facility to customer
Once product is delivered, Delivery Partner sends confirmation to the Seller

Seller sends confirmation to customer via mobile and email
