METHODOLOGY

This chapter contains the research design, population and

sample, instrumentalities and data gathering.

Research Design

This research study will use a mixed method approach. Survey

questionnaire will be given to the respondents in order to collect the

data. This will be use to gather information that will mainly identify

the effect of the Rice Tarrification law and it's implication to the

local rice consumers. The researchers will do a quantitative research

about the Perceive Implication of Rice Tarrification Law specifically

to their cost of living. The distributed questionnaire will seek for the

respondents name, age, occupation, income and perception in

the effect of implication of Rice Tarrification Law to them. The data

gathering will be conducted at the selected baranggay of San

Pablo City Laguna. In documentary analysis the result of the survey

will be secured in order to attain the right and valuable information.

Population and Sampling

In order to attain the needed data, researchers will use

purposive sampling. A sampling where it is not use to make profit

thus will based on the characteristic of a population and objectives

of the study. Purposive sampling is a sampling technique that the

judgement of researchers is the one to rely in selecting the member

of respondents that will participate to the study. The respondents

has to be willing to become part of this study. In the selection

process, the researchers must also seek for participants who has the

capability to answer the items in questionnaire that will be given.

Respondents and Researchers will both benefit as they are rice

consumer themselves thus it can provide a great help for the study

to determine the effects of the implication of Rice tarrification Law

to their daily cost of living.

Data gathering instruments

The research design that will be used in data gathering will be

mixed method approach, as it involves gathering data from a

sample group. This research is design to identify the effect and its

implication on the rice consumers.

Research methodology

Research must follow logical process steps to rationally

formulate effective results.

I. Construction of research questions

In this study ‟Perceive Implication of the Effect of Rice

Tariffication Law to Rice Consumers of San Pablo City

Laguna”, it will be essential to construct the research question

first. The selected respondents will be given questionnaires to

know their insights and to know the current effect of Rice

Tariffication Law to them.

II. Sampling/ Selection of respondents

In this case, (total number x 30%) the residents of Brgy.

XXX will be the target respondents of the researchers. List of

barangays in San Pablo City will be listed and random

sampling through draw lots will be employed in identifying the

specific barangay.

III. Conducting the survey

Researchers will conduct the survey and questionnaires

will be provided as post-survey for those respondents living

from the barangay in San Pablo City.

IV. Gathering of data

The answers of the respondents will be gathered and will

be collected so that the researchers can proceed on the

analysis of data. Those questionnaires will be put inside a safe

carrier to avoid changes.

V. Analysis of data

After organizing the data, researchers will collect the all

the surveys and compile them for the statistical treatment.

The paper will be analyzed and treated with the help of

expert statisticians for reliable results.

Statistical treatment of data

Statistical treatment of data is a vital in order to build and

make use of the data in the accurate structure. Natural data

compilation is one of the vital characteristic of any research study.

In this research, the result and data will be statistically analyzed

using T-Test or ANOVA.
