A. Through picture analysis the students can:
1. Understand the role of humanities and arts in man’s attempt at fully realizing
his end
2. Show the importance of art and its purpose in the contemporary society
3. Critique the artwork shown on the slides
B. Through showing a picture , the students can:
1. Distinguish the importance of arts in the society
2. Identify the different purpose of arts, methods of arts and its relation to
history, present, and to the future.

IV. PROCEDURE

A. Motivation
Present an artwork to the class and let them analyze the painting and what does it
mean
B. Review
Reviewing the differences between 1-dimensional, 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional
art.

1. Learning Experience
a. Presenting the lesson through artwork analysis
b. Discussing the methods used in art history (a review)
c. Discussing the purpose of art history
d. Relate the lesson in everyday lives of the students

2. Learning Activity
a. By group, the learners will interpret certain artwork (Spoliarium) on
a ½ sheet of paper
b. Rubrics/ criteria will be discussed by the teacher

C. Wrapping Up
a. What have you learned in our discussion?
b. What do you think is the reason why we need study those?
c. What do we need to appreciate art more?
d. How helpful arts in our daily lives?

V. Assignment
On a short bondpaper, paste a drawn picture or a cut-out picture that represent each of
the following subjects:

1. One (1) picture that represents a person


2. One (1) picture that represents a subject
3. One (1) picture that represents a scene
4. One (1) picture that represents an event
