Basic Occupational

Safety and Health Training


(BOSH)

OVERVIEW
This training course is required under Rule 1030 of the Occupational Safety and Health Standards. It
is open to all, but the priority client is the potential safety officer. The usual mode of training is face-
to-face; BOSH is now being offered through Distance Education since year 2005. The BOSH training
manual is also given to specific sectors such as hotels and restaurants; ports; schools; contact
centers, farming, fishing among others.

Course Objectives
At the end of the course, the participants will have:
 acquired the basic knowledge and skills on occupational health, safety, and work
environment;
 formulated a re-entry plan as a contribution to their company’s safety and health program.

TRAINING PROPOSAL

Proposed Date of implementation : July 22-26, 2019


Planned Venue : Sorsogon State College
Target Participants : 50 Faculty/Staff of SSC

COOPERATING AGENCIES:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF PARTNER AGENCIES

SORSOGON STATE COLLEGE


1. Provide the venue for the training.
2. Provide lodging for the trainors and secretariat.
3. Provide food for the trainors, secretariat of the BICOL OSHNET and the participants during
the training (2 snacks and 1 lunch).
4. Provide laptop and projector for the seminar proper (c/o SSC).
5. Provide laptop for 5 groups and camera for presentation (c/o trainees).
6. Provide/Identify university facility (e.g. motor pool, machine shop) for the site visit on Day
4 and make necessary arrangement.

BICOL OSHNET

1. Provide the training materials, including kits, manual for the training, certificates, hardhat,
polo shirt, etc.
2. Provide lecturers for the training.
3. Provide a secretariat that will monitor the training program during the whole duration of
the training

DOLE/OSH CENTER
1. Monitor the proceedings of the training.
2. Ensure adherence to the prescribed OSH module.
3. Provide DOLE OSH focal and to act as resource speaker.

FINANCIAL PROPOSAL

Minimum number of Participants 50 persons


Cost of Training per Participant P 4,000.00/pax

Amount to be paid to BICOL OSHNET P200,000.00

NOTE: Meals shall be provided by the SSU.
