EXAMINATION: A COMPARATIVE STUDY

PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND

INTRODUCTION

The Balanacan National High School uses manual process when it comes to Examination. They uses

Pen and Paper every examination day, which gives difficulty in some students.

Same goes with the teachers, it gives burden and time unsuming for them to manually check all test

paper of their student. Unlike in Electronic Examination, student just sign-up and it is ready to use. It

also gives a faster examination results, after student finish the answering. The teacher will just record

the examination result of their student.

Examination: The most familiar and unpleasant meaning of examination known to student around the

world, is a test of one knowledge in a particular area an exam in short. Any form of close inspection or

analysis is an examination, not just a set of questions on a piece of paper.

And also helps the measure how much they have learned. Actually it promotes competition

among students. It helps in developing one personality and confidence. And exams have the major role

providing necessary qualities in life such as hard work, patience, creativeness, and leadership. A

detailed inspection or investigation and a formal test of a person knowledge proficiency in a particular

subject or skill.

Paper and pencil instrument refer to a general group of assessment tools in which candidates

read questions and respond in writing. This includes tests, such as knowledge and ability tests, and

inventories, such as personality and interest inventories.


Technology is the way we apply scientific knowledge to find answers and fix problem.

Technology is using fewer resources to manufacture goods more efficiency, technology is hiring from all

over the world to manufacture goods. Technology is important because it makes you feel more secure

with every area in life for both personal and business person with technology advancing more people

are able to have access to supplies such as fresh water and foods because technology can help deliver

those items people that otherwise couldn’t get it.


STATEMENTS OF THE PROBLEM

This study aims to answer the following questions:

1. What are the difference between Paper and Pen Examination and Electronic Examination of

Grade12 students?

2. How did paper and pen examination and electronic examination useful to the Grade12 student

to the improvement?

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

This comparative study is a great help in student. The following are those who will be benefited

by this comparative study.

STUDENTS. They can easily get their test result without waiting too long.

TEACHERS. To the teachers of Balanacan National High School, they can easily monitor the score of their

student, and their work will be lessen.

TO THE SCHOOL OF BNHS. It will be serve as a stepping stone to become modernize school it will also

acquire a large space since it is paperless in the office.


SCOPE AND LIMITATIONS

This comparative study will focus on pen and paper Examination and Electronic Examination.

The researcher will use questionnaire gather the data they needed for the study. Also the researcher will

not use any sampling procedure because they get the Grade12 students as their respondent of the

study. This study was conducted in Balanacan National High School from November 2019 to March 2020

DEFINITION OF TERMS

The following terms are operationally defined in this study.

Electronic Examination. This refers to the test examination thru computer.

Test Paper Examination. As used in this study, this is refers to the written examination or an

examination in a paper form.
