Lesson 6:

Journals- can be used throughout your life. It is like your diary because it covers topics of your personal
interest and observation. It can help you express yourself.

Diary- records your reactions to your daily happenings.

Journal- is a repository of all the things that interest and inspire you.

You can include the following to your journal:

 Your goals
 Quotes that inspire you
 Pictures that you love
 Books that you want to read
 Websites to explore
 To-do lists
 Pictures from magazines
Guidelines that will help you write a good journal:

 Think about what you are to write.


-think before you click.
 Say your sentences to yourself.
-talk as if you are talking to yourself.
 Write down your sentences. Use Details.
-Detailed journal- is more interesting to read.
 Use a speaker voice when sharing.
-share your thoughts and talk.

 Using the computer in typing your journal is a big advantage.

Word processing program or Notepad- this software can help you keep your journals.

Blog- using a free-blogging site and adding pictures and videos can help you share your thoughts to people
who have common interest as yours.

Letters or Electronic Mails- writing a letter to yourself will help you attain a self-searching attitude that can
help you learn more about yourself.

Social Networking sites- help you share your journal entries with family and friends.

Media Sources- recording your voice and creating a video clips on the computer is another way of making a
journal.

Spiritual or Gratitude journal- is an expression of being thankful and gratified.


Lesson 7:

School Newsletter- is very important.

Newsletter- gives them the opportunity to know what is going on with the school in terms of academics, co-
curricular activities, school plans, achievements, and school leaders.

Framework- it is the execution and style that spells the difference.

CONTENTS OF A NEWSLETTER:

 School Achievements
-the school should commend the students who bring honor to the name of the school in academics
and co-curricular activities.
 School Activities
-The school should itemize all the successful academic and non-academic activities that
contributes to the development of their students.
 Current Events
-The views and opinion of the students in the government and other current trends will define
how well-rounded they are.
 Literary Pieces
-Students\Contributors should submit personality composed literary materials like stories,
poems, and song lyrics.
 Feature Story
-A story that has been headline in the country or in the school.
 Entertainment
-It covers celebrity news, trivia questions, games or comic strips.
 Sports
-part of a newsletter intended for sports events and news.

Newsletter Staff:
Editor-in-chief- responsible for overall content of the newsletter.
Associate Editor- responsible for helping the authors in reviewing the articles they submitted.

Literary Editor- responsible for helping the literary writers\contributors in creating an interesting literary material.

News Editors- they are in charge and they decide what stories should be covered.

Patnugot sa Filipino- they are the editor in the Filipino portion of the newsletter.

Feature Editors- they are responsible for articles that take a deep look at issues.

Entertainment Editor- responsible for the articles about trivia, games, quiz, puzzles, or comic stirps.

Sports Editors- they are in charge of the sport news.

Copy Editors- edit stories for style and sense cuts them to fit the page and writes the headlines and captions.

Circulation Manager- manages the distribution of the newsletter.

Layout Artists- they design pages, arrange placement of pictures, checks the readability of text, and fix the
alignment of all the elements in the newsletter.

Photographers- they take pictures needed for each edition.

Contributors- they obtain information and write stories.

Language Consultants- they check and improve the work of the contributors.

Picture Editors- they select the best pictures for the stories.

Graphic Artists- they produce informative graphics, charts, maps, and diagrams to help explain a story visually.

Designers- they design layouts that are attractive and accessible to the reader while maintaining the look and
identity of the newsletter.

Lesson 8:

BPO- is the acronym for Business Process Outsourcing.

-is the process of hiring another company to handle their business activities from data processing, office support,
payroll, sales, technical support and customer service.

Offshore Outsourcing- is a contract outside the company’s country.

Call Center- is a form of BPO that deals with inbound and outbound calls providing sales, customer service, technical
support, telemarketing, and phone surveys for their clients.

Audio Typist- is someone who can type text while listening to an audio source.

Audio keyboarding comes in two forms:


1. Recorded Audio- this audio keyboarding can be taken accurately because there is a chance of playback.
2. Live Audio- this audio keyboarding requires the typist to be fast and accurate because it doesn’t have a
rewind.
Transcription- is the art of taking audio and video recordings and converting them into a written word.

TYPE OF TRANSCRIPTS:
Clean Read\Intelligent Verbatim- transcripts which omit false starts and stutters are by far the most common.

Modified Verbatim- transcripts which are minimally cleaned up can also be generated.

Verbatim- it is transcribe exactly as it is spoken, transcripts include literally every phase and utterance.

Lesson 9:

Internet- is constantly evolving tool that not only contains an amazing variety of information, but it also provides
new ways of accessing interacting and connecting with people. Is a global system interconnected computer
networks that use the standard internet protocol suite.

E-Mail or Electronic Mail- is a system for sending and receiving messages online.

VOIP (Voice over Internet Protocol)-allows a user to have telephone service through an internet connection.

Online Chat- a system that allows the users to communicate in real time.

Blog- short for web blog. It is a type of website updated regularly that contains news articles and random thoughts.

Streaming- means watching a movie online or listening to a radio.

Streaming Media- means it downloads while playing.

Social Networking- is an online service that allows people to interact with each other and stay connected with
friends and family.
PODCAST- you can subscribe to a series of audio or video files that will automatically be download to your
computer.

WIKI- is a type of website that allows content to be edited or created by anyone.

Web Feed- is also known as newsfeed. It is a way to receive updates from your favorite websites and blogs.

Social Bookmarking- allows users all over the internet to share and rate interesting sites.

CYBER ETHICS:
Limit yourself when using the internet.

Never visit a site that is not suitable to view.

Never download an illegal movie, software, or books.

Web Browser- is the tool you use to access the World Wide Web.

Opera, Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Chrome- are the most popular web browsers.

Address Bar- shows the web address of the page you are on.

Link- can be text or an image, and it is usually formatted to stand out so you know how to click on it.

Back and Forward Buttons- are used to view the recently viewed web pages.

Refresh Button- or reload is used to tell the browser to load the page again.

Stop Button- to stop the page from loading.

Bookmarks- they are web pages that you would like to go back later.

Search Box- performing web searches.

Downloading- is the transmission of a file from one computer to another.

Uploading- is the transmission of a file from one computer system to another usually to a larger computer system.

Lesson 10:

Website- is a collection of related web pages containing images, videos, or other digital assets.

Web Page- is a document written in plain text with formatting instructions of hypertext markup language.

Answer Site- is a website where people can ask questions and get good answers from experts of that fields.

Blog- is a website used to post online diaries which may include discussion in different forums.

Celebrity Website- is a website that provides information about a popular actor, actress, musician, band, or a
popular athlete.

Community Website- is a website where people with similar interest communicate.

Forum Website- it enables people to discuss various topics.

Electronic Commerce- is a site offering good s and services online and enabling online transactions for such sales.
Gaming Website- is a site where gamers meet and play together as if they are in one room communicating and
playing with each other.

Media Sharing Website- enables user to upload and view media such as pictures, music, and videos.

Microblog Website- is a short and simple form of blogs. Are limited to certain amounts of characters and works
similar to a status update on Facebook.

News Website- is dedicated to dispensing news, politics and commentary.

TYPE OF WEBSITE:
Personal Website- it is about an individual or a small group such as a family.

Government Website- it can be for a local, state, department or national government of a country.

Political Website- it is where people may voice political views, campaign for elections or show information about a
certain political party or ideology.

Religious Website- is where people may advertise a place of worship, or provide inspiration or seek to encourage
the faith a group of religious followers.

School Website- it allows teachers, students, or administrators to post information about current events at or
involving their school.

Search Engine Website- it shows materials on the internet or an intranet and provides links to information as a
response to a query.

Social Networking Website- it is where users could communicate with one another and share media, such as
pictures, videos, music, and blogs with other users.

Ware Website- it is designed to host or link materials such as music, movies, and software for the users to
download.

Webmail- is used to provide a webmail service.

Web Portal- it provides a gateway to other resources on the internet or intranet.
