GENERAL GUIDELINES

 A maximum of 7 members are allowed per team.

 Cars’ drivetrain must be powered by an Internal Combustion engine with a


maximum displacement of 5.0cc. Electric or Solar powered vehicles are not
permitted.

 Fuel with more than 30% nitro is NOT allowed.

 Fuel and Batteries will not be provided by the organizers.

 Cars are to have a space approximately 3”x2”x1” for the transponder inside
the body (away from disturbances).

 Participants are advised to have multi-channel radio controllers to prevent


frequency clashes. Organizers will not be responsible for any interference in
frequencies.

 Organizers have the right to stop a car from competing if it is found to be


unsafe.

 The teams are not allowed to leave any loose part(s) on the arena. If found,
they would be disqualified immediately.

 Time penalties for cars leaving the track are at the sole discretion of the
organizers. Details of the penalties will be revealed on the day of the event.

 Organizers will not be responsible for accidental collisions during the race.
Teams deliberately trying to obstruct another vehicle are subject to
disqualification. The final decision rests with the organizers in this regard.
 Un-sportsman-like conduct, inappropriate or foul language or conduct
determined to be disruptive to the racing environment will result in
disqualification from the championship.

 A pedestal will be provided for drivers to control their vehicles. Drivers are
prohibited from running around the track along with the car. The track may
contain challenging blind spots that are not clearly visible to the driver
(Except stunt).

 A maximum of two track marshal per team will be allowed to run around
the track to restore the cars leaving the track.

 The coordinators reserve the right to disqualify any team indulging in


misbehavior.

 Ready to run kits are acceptable, however extra points will be awarded for
customization, fabrication and performance enhancement as per technical
teams’ decision.

 All rounds of the championship will be held at MIT Manipal during


TechTatva, 2017.

 The teams are responsible for their transponders, if found damaged they are
subjectable to a penalty of up to Rs.10,000/-.

 In case of any adverse circumstances, all the four rounds are not completed,
points will be finalized on the basis of races that have been completed .

GENERAL RULES FOR ALL EVENTS


1. Only cars with fuel powered engines may participate in the competition.
2. The cars and the drivers should be the same throughout all four events of
the festival.
3. It is the responsibility of the race management team that everyone
including the spectators are in their proper positions.
4. It is advisable that the participants carry their own fuel.
5. The Fuel RC crew consisting of Catheads, Coordinators, Event Heads,
Organizer and Volunteers will be present in the Quadrangle (ground) for
the judgement as well as for helping in the resetting of the cars back on the
track.
6. Driving off the track is strictly not allowed, taking shortcuts may lead to
cancellation of the attempt.
7. The number and/or duration of mains and heats may be altered due to
weather conditions or time constraints.
8. Intentionally driving the car out of track, where it may endanger the
spectators will lead to disqualification.
9. Reverse in competition is not allowed.

* The coordinators reserve the rights to change any of the above


rules as they deem fit. You are advised to regularly check the
website for updates

* Addition to the rules will be made. The rules as they stand on


4th October 2017 will be final. Points table will be supplied later.

TIME ATTACK
Venue : 13th Block Stretch
Date : 4th October 2017
Reporting Time : 14:15
Start Time : 15:00

In this race against time the participant’s skills and grit are immediately tested as
they race to set the fastest possible lap on the FRC Sprint Circuit. One corner too
slow or one cone knocked over could be the difference between winners and
losers. Consistency is key!

RULES:
1. Two tries will be given to a participant. Best of two is selected.
2. Every time a cone is touched or the path is not followed, a time penalty is
incurred which is added to the total time taken by the participant.
3. All the general rule applies.
4. For Any mechanical failure of the car one extra try will be given to the
participant.

DRAG
Venue : 13th Block Stretch
Date : 4th October 2017
Reporting Time : 18:00
Start Time : 19:00

Set under the lights at nighttime, the Drag is one of TechTatva’s most popular
events. Participants go head to head in an all-out, straight line battle of
horsepower. Lots of action, noise, and smell of nitromethane in the air. Don’t miss
this chance to see who gets the biggest bragging rights!

RULES:
1. The event starts at 19:00 sharp, with the reporting time for participants to
be one hour prior to the start of the event (18:00).
2. Preparation time of forty five minutes will be given from 18:00 to 18:45.
3. The draws are to be announced thirty minutes prior to the start of the
event.
4. No practice runs or trials of any sort for this event. Participants may warm
up their cars on the outside of the drag strip or in the run off areas.
5. Absolutely no rolling starts, cars will start the Drag from a standstill.
6. Any challenge or appeal with regard to any decision made by the organizing
party will only be entertained if submitted as a formal written document.
7. All drivers are responsible for the actions of their pitcrew/teammates.
8. Change of driver at any point during any event will result in a
disqualification.
9. Change of RC car at any point during any event will result in a
disqualification.
10.Any discrepancy or spot ruling that may be required to be made by the
organizing party will be done as they see fit, and their ruling is final and not
subject to appeal.

STUNT
Venue : Quadrangle, AB-1
Date : 5th October 2017
Reporting Time : 13:45
Start Time : 14:30

Watch participants fight it out as they attempt to roll, flip, loop and even fly their
cars in the obstacle filled arena. Here time has no meaning as points are awarded
for the skill and style with which participants can maneuver our obstacle course.
Lots of crashes and air time to be seen here!

RULES:
1. The race starts at 2:30 pm, so the participants must be present at the venue
by 1:45pm.
2. A practice of the track will be given. Each participant will be given a 3 min
time or less depending on the time constraints.
3. All drivers are responsible for the actions of their pit crew.
4. It’s the responsibility of the race management team that everyone
including the spectators are in their proper positions.
5. In the Main event, every participant will be given 5 min time and the points
will be given on the basis of number of laps and the obstacles they
complete. For e.g. if a participant completes 2 laps with 9 obstacles in each
lap and 3 more obstacles when they start the 3rd lap, they get the points for
21 obstacles and of the completion of 2 laps.
6. There will be 1 run given to each participant.
7. The points of each participant will later be scaled by using appropriate
formula.
8. A podium will be given to the driver to stand. It’s the choice of the driver to
remain stationary or mobile.
9. Any of the following actions by a driver or his pit crew members may result
in disqualification of from the event:
a) Operating the car anywhere that endangers others.
b) Possession of any alcoholic beverage or illegal substances in the
racing premises.
c) Entering the scoring areas and asking the judgement team to
manipulate the scores.
d) Using improper language with other participants or the event
organizing team.
10.If the car stops in between, the time will be paused for a very short
duration. If there is a mechanical damage or any serious damage then only
the participant will be given a 2nd trial.
11.Driving off the track is strictly not allowed, taking shortcuts may lead to
cancellation of the attempt.

GP de Manipal
Venue : Quadrangle, AB-1
Date : 5th October 2017
Reporting Time : 18:00
Start Time : 18:30
The last round of the competition brings with it a full sized Grand Prix race in the
Quadrangle itself. Participants race in groups of four on an intense track with tight
chicanes and fast sections as well. The ultimate speed battle of adrenaline and
speed!

RULES:
1 .The number and/or duration of mains and heats may be altered due to
weather conditions or time constraints.
2. All drivers are responsible for the actions of their pit crew.
3. It is the responsibility of the race director, race management, and track
crew’s team to insure that everyone, including spectators, are in the proper
places and not in danger at any time.
4. Any of the following actions by a driver or his pit crew may result in
disqualification from the event:

a. Operating a car anywhere that endangers others.


b. Drinking alcoholic beverages, use of illegal substances or showing
evidence of being under the influence of an illegal substance in the race or pit
area.
c. Entering scoring areas or restricted areas without permission.
d. Assaulting another individual.
e. Using improper language or actions with directors, participants, or
spectators
f. Using improper language, yelling, or actions with corner marshals.
g. Rough driving or intentional hacking.
5. Any driver who does not have complete control over his vehicle must
immediately pull his car off the racing surface.

6. Any car that loses its body must pull off the track until a pit crew can
secure the body back onto the car.
7. In case of a collision which results in the change of direction the driver
responsible for the collision will be penalized extremely heavily. The final
decision on who the guilty person is would be decided by the Event Heads
and Coordinators who would analyze the video evidence made at that
point.
8. A pit area will be provided on the outside of the primary racing surface
where repairs are allowed.

9. A driver’s stand will be provided that gives all drivers an equal view of
the track.
10. Turn marshals are not permitted to repair vehicles. Marshals will take
disabled vehicles to the closest outer edge of the race track as soon as
possible. When marshaling a vehicle, it should be returned to the point
where it left the racing surface. Care must be exercised not to interfere
with on-coming vehicles. Only the designated marshals are permitted to
handle vehicles on the racetrack during a race. No one else may enter the
racetrack to repair or retrieve a vehicle.

11. A vehicle running on the track has the right of way over a vehicle that
has become disabled.
