Positive Hopes For The Future

In today's time, students who are studying to become nurses or registered nurses in general
are in high demand. The reason being, that people are always in need of some sort of
medical assistance regardless of the persons age. Most people would consider nursing as a
stable career, although it depends on the decided salaries where one lives. In Arizona the
hourly wage for a registered nurse is “$36.11” (Nurse) compared to the salary across the
United States which is “$35.36” (Nurse). This is only a seventy-five cent difference,
however, it makes a tremendous difference in the long run when it is compared to the
weekly, monthly, and annual salaries, as shown by the picture below.

The duties of a registered nurse are very broad, and the job description can include a wide
range of different tasks. These tasks can include assessing and “monitoring the patient”
(What). When monitoring the patient; nurses look for a sudden increase or decrease in the
patients blood pressure, heartbeat, temperature, oxygen saturation, or timing the patient's
respirations (breaths per minute). Nurses call this type of assessment, Vital signs.
Whenever the patient's vitals differ from what is normal it should be documented and be
made aware to other nurses and the patient's primary doctor. This link is a YouTube video

Nurses in today's medical field hope for further recognition. More often than not, most
patients and their families primarily give credit to the doctors and surgeons for the quality of
care they receive. Nonetheless nurses are there, providing care throughout the duration of
their stay and report back to the doctor. Nurses are responsible for taking vitals, clothing
and bathing patients, and getting anything else they may need to feel more comfortable.
People fail to realize that nurses can be on-call in the same way doctors can be. Nurses are
able to be readily emotionally and physically available twenty-four seven
