ABOUT US

PT. KORINA REFINERY ACEH is a Joint Venture
(JV) between PT. Wangsa Energi Prakarsa, Indo-
nesia and Mcsong Holdings, South Korea. This
strategic partnership has been established in the
incorporation of PT. Korina Refinery Aceh, based
in Lhokseumawe located in Arun Special Eco-
nomic Zone (SEZ Arun), Aceh Province, Indone-
sia. This gives the project a strategic maritime lo-
cation and a competitive advantage being in the
path of international shipping lines in the Indian
Ocean, Malaka straight and the China Sea thus
easing the process of transport in and out of the
region also to filling fuel supply to western part
of Indonesia.
Once the refinery is completed, it will have the
capacity to process around 200,000 barrels of
crude oil per day. Diesel, jet fuel, naphtha, gaso-
line and LPG are to be its primary products.
PT. Korina Refinery Aceh has completed its 200
hectares site preparation work and received
the final technical submissions from bidders for
EPC packages one and two, which are the pro-
cess units package and the utilities and off sites
package respectively. The technical evaluation
is now completed and bidders have been invit-
ed to submit their commercial bids. Invitation to
Tender has been sent to Prequalified bidders for
EPC package 3 (offsite facilities) consisting of the

product storage and export terminal in Lhokseu-
mawe, Crude storage tanks, and the crude pipe-
line to the refinery complex.
PT. Korina Refinery Aceh will be one of the
growth engines for the Arun special economic
zone. It will provide development opportunities
for new projects that will directly and indirectly
interface with the refinery. These projects will
look to benefit from the refinery’s products as
well as provide different logistic services to the
refinery. This venture will honor in the achieve-
ment of international standards by giving Korina
a name as a major player in the field, therefore
adding intangible value to Korina as a brand while
introducing new industries to the area.
