ISSUES IN HUMAN RESOURCE

Human Resources is used to describe both employees who work


for the company and as well as the department responsible for
managing resources related to employees. Human resource is wide
and complex due to a huge number of responsibilities that they have
to handle. Improper handling of the Human Resource Department can
cause issues that one may need to resolve in order for the company to
be successful. Different Issues in HR are:

1. Recruiting talented employees


Recruiting and attracting talented employees might be difficult
because this requires huge investment of time and money. It is also
impossible for one to know whether a candidate will be a good fit for
the company until they have worked for a period of time.
A way to resolve it is to use a staffing agency that can provide
employees that can be hired out for temporary of long term work. This
allows you to try out employees with little to no risk.

2. Unmotivated employees
Employees losing motivation can be due to a lot of factors
namely, Lack of career progression, Feeling underappreciated, Lack of
confidence in management decisions and so on. This can be resolve by
investing in training and development for the employees Take genuine
interest in your employees. If employees feel that the company cares
for their wellbeing then they will be more confident and motivated in
working in the company. A company should also set clear goals. If an
employee knows and fully understands what it is they are working
towards, then it will be easier for them to plan and manage their time
in order to achieve their goal. They wouldn’t feel that they are wasting
time or doing pointless tasks. Another example of this is from my

Chinese student’s company. What their company does is they have a


template for goal setting and they let their employees set quantifiable
goals. They would have individual meetings with their managers to
talk about how they can achieve these goals. By the end of the year,
they would have a performance review in regards to what they have
set and if they achieved these goals within that year. This will be the
basis if they are going to have a salary raise or a promotion. This is a
good strategy to make the employees motivated and they would feel
that the company cares about their professional growth.
