What To Do

Many people have a plan after High School. Most of the time, it’s going to college or a

university. Some have decided to join a trade school. To get a good job and make some good

money. That sounds fun for me but, I am a philosopher. I question these ideas and find a way to

connect them with me.

Who am I? I am an everlasting student of both life and school. I am a philosopher that

questions the very existence of life in this universe. I am a writer in search of ways to tell the

vast ocean of stories that are stuck in my head. I am an artist in search of worlds.

I come from a family of farm workers. Like my grandfather and my parents, I learned to

have a “sense” with nature. Plants became an interest of mine and soon, I grew seedlings in a

basket of dirt. Their growth was interesting. “How can life grow from a single seed?” I asked

myself.

Not long ago, I had a hate towards religion. I didn’t mind learning about it but the

problem was that it stopped me from exploring. “Shh… Calladito!” My parents would tell me.

My hate towards it grew as my siblings were born. Mass only seemed to be a waste of our fun

time. Then one day, I was left with my aunt at church. That day, I learned about faith. This and

many other experiences lead me to question how the world works. By then, I had unconsciously

made myself in philosophy. My future plans would then be changed by what I had learned in the

years to come.

My Goal for the next few years would continue to change as new events occurred but, my

concept of it was simple. Grow, Learn, and explore.

The plan that I have created is “unique” and unrefined.

While completing courses in my college or university of choice, I would take on an

internship on some kinds of jobs related to graphic designers or fine arts or the career of my

choice. I would want to go reach the position of Art Director or painter of some kind. An Art

Director must have 5 years in experience throughout related jobs and must be creative,

resourceful, time-manageable, and a leader. According to the occupational outlook handbook,

there is little to no change in this job industry and most of these artists are self-employed

(Occupational).

In order to traverse such long years of this job, I will prepare by designing my own

artwork and improving upon it consistently. I plan to present my work to studios and galleries in

hopes of networking into a career that fits my type of art.

I also plan to be open-minded to events that may happen to me in the later future. I may

decide to take a short trip or I may decide to stay here and go to school. I may even decide to

throw all these ideas aside. As my mind is ever-growing in knowledge, so are my options.

A plan I have on the side is becoming a writer of sorts on the topic of philosophy. Both

writing and philosophy have become a subject that I like and would like to dive further in the

future. According to GetEducated, there are multiple jobs that consist of philosophy and writing.

For me, having more than one plan for the future is best. I can be in the middle of

learning something to then realize that it is not something I want to keep doing. I believe that

having this kind of mindset will lead me to a path that I know I will like.
