Mechanics: Project DEAR (Drop Everything And Read)


1. A short passage for the day will be posted in strategic places within the school campus.
2. Section mayors will be assigned to copy and write it (quotation, passage or trivia) onn
their respective classroom blackboards
3. At exactly 10:00 in the morning, the bell will ring and the featured passage will be read
simultaneously. During this time, everyone is expected to drop everything and read.
4. All subject teachers are requested to give a simple/brief explanation on the featured
passage in order for the students to comprehend it.

Get Caught Reading


1. Students who will be seen reading books, magazines, newspapers, etc. anywhere in the
school will have a chance to be given a reward once they are caught in the act by means of
a photograph. Anyone can take pictures of them and is encouraged to submit the photos
taken to either Roi Benzon Rondon (English Club President) or Janella Balbag (EC
Secretary) or post it to Reading Enthusiasts SNNHS, the facebook page of the school.
2. All photos submitted will be considered as official entries to the program.
3. The photos will be scrutinized/ validated by the language teachers.
4. From the entries, a ‘Reader of the Month’ will be selected.
5. The winner for the month will receive a certificate of recognition and a simple token to be
awarded during the flag raising ceremony. Likewise, the photographer of the winning entry
will also be given the same prize.

WHugot Lines?
1. The contest is open to all SNNHS students. They will make or formulate their original
HUGOT LINES about READING. They can submit as many as they can. They will send
or post it to Reading Enthusiasts SNNHS.
2. The lines should be stated in English and are in good taste.
3. All lines submitted will be considered as official entries to the contest.
4. The lines will be judged by the English teachers.
5. From the entries, the best three will receive a certificate of recognition and a simple token.

Infographics Making
1. The contest is open to all SNNHS students. They will make their INFOGRAPHICS about
reading. They can submit individually or by group. They will send or post it to Reading
Enthusiasts SNNHS.
2. The medium to be used is English and it should be original.
3. All submitted outputs will be considered as official entries to the contest.
4. The infographics will be judged by the English teachers.
5. From the entries, the best three will receive a certificate of recognition and a simple token.
