QUESTIONS

Step 2-Examine the current switch configuration

How many Ethernet or Fast Ethernet interfaces does the switch have?
24.
What is the range of values shown for the VTY lines?
• Vty 0-4.
• Vty 5-15.
Why does the switch give this response?
we haven’t set any start-up configurations yet.

Step 4-Examine the current running configuration

Are there any passwords set on the lines?

No.
What does the configuration show as the hostname of this switch?

Step 6-Set the command mode passwords

switch
for configuration.

Step 8-Examine the startup configuration file

What is displayed?

Are all the changes that were entered recorded in the file?
Yes.
Step 10-Verify connectivity
Were the pings successful?
Yes.
We do it 5 times by pairs of two pcs.
Step 11-Record the MAC addresses of the host
PC0: 0001.6418.B527
PC1: 000C.CFAD.1326
PC2: 0006.2A5C.AADE
PC3: 0030.F2A3.6378
PC4: 0003.E459.7101
Step 12-Determine the MAC addresses that the switch has learned

How many dynamic addresses are there?

5.
How many total MAC addresses are there?
5.
How many addresses have been user defined?
Non.
Do the MAC addresses match the host MAC addresses?
Yes.

Step 13-Determine the show MAC table options

How many options are available for the show mac-address-table command?
1.
How many are there?
5.
Step 15-Verify the results

How many total MAC addresses are there now?

Non.
Why are there so many?
There aren’t any mac addresses shown because we cleared them.
How many dynamic addresses are there?
Non.

Step 16-Determine the clear MAC table options

How many options are there?

1.
In what circumstances would these options be used?
To clear the dynamic mac addresses.

Step 17-Examine the MAC table again

How many dynamic addresses are there?
Non. After pinging the switch.

Why did this change from the last display?
