• SHELTER
o Max. of 20 sqm of floor area per person with private and additional shared space.
o Able to accommodate up to 5 people
o Design should cater to the individual’s personal needs (rest, bath, cook, and work)
and community requirements (interact)
o Portable and easy to assemble/construct on site ,easily scalable (modular) to a
community
o Made of eco-friendly and affordable materials
o Able to maintain indoor temperature within the range 24-28 deg C
• ENERGY
o All energy to be sourced from renewable sources (waste to energy is acceptable)
o Maximum of 3 kWh per person per day for domestic use (excluding water treatment
systems)
o Alternative cooling technologies to be incorporated
o Design must be flexible and responsive to future energy requirements
o 2 days energy storage (as back up)
• WATER
o 70 litres per person per day or 50% reduction from current local consumption
o Water recycling system for grey water (>80%)
o Rainfall water catchment and treatment
o Grey and Black Water treatment
