My Daily Confession

Isaiah 60

I will arise, Shine, for my light has come and the glory of the Lord is risen upon me. For
behold, the darkness will cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the Lord will
arise over me, and His glory will be seen upon me. The Gentiles will come to my light,
and kings to the brightness of my rising.

I will lift up my eyes all around, and see: They all gather together, they come to me; my
sons will come from afar, and my daughters will be nursed at my side.

Then I will see and become radiant, and my heart will swell with joy; because the
abundance of the sea will be turned to me. The wealth of the Gentiles will come to me.
The multitude of camels will cover my land. The dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all
those from Sheba will come; they will bring gold and incense, and they will proclaim the
praises of the Lord.

All the flocks of Kedar will be gathered together to me. The rams of Nebaioth will
minister to me. They will ascend with acceptance on His alter, and He will glorify the
house of His glory.

Who are these who fly like a cloud, and like doves to their roosts? Surely the coastlands
will wait for Him; and the ships of Tarshish will come first, to bring my sons from afar,
their silver and their gold with them to the name of the Lord my God, and to the Holy
One of Israel, because He has glorified me.

The sons of foreigners will build up my walls, and their kings will minister to me. For in
His wrath He struck me, but in His favor He has had mercy on me. Therefore my gates
will be open continually. They will not be shut day or night, that men may bring to me
the wealth of the Gentiles, and their kings in procession.

For the nation and kingdom which will not serve me will perish, and those nations will be
utterly ruined. The glory of Lebanon will come to me.

The cypress, the pine and the box tree together, to beautify the place of His sanctuary;
and He will make the place of His feet glorious. Also the sons of those who afflicted me
will come bowing to me, and all those who despised me will fall prostrate at the soles of
my feet; and they will call me The City of the Lord, Zion of the Holy One of Israel.

Whereas I have been forsaken and hated, so that no one went through me, He will make
me an eternal excellence, a joy of many generations. I will drink dry the milk of the
Gentiles, and will milk the breast of kings. I will know that He, the Lord, is my Saviour
and my redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.
Instead of bronze He will bring gold, Instead of iron He will bring silver, Instead of
wood, bronze, and instead of stones, iron. He will also make my officers peace, and my
magistrates righteousness. (Peace will be my officers and righteousness my magistrates.)
Violence will no longer be heard in my land. Neither wasting nor destruction within my
borders; But I will call my walls Salvation, and my gates Praise. (My walls are salvation
and Praise is my gates)

The sun will no longer by my light by day, nor for brightness will the moon give light to
me; but the Lord will be to me an everlasting light, and my God my glory.

My sun will no longer go down, nor will my moon withdraw itself; for the Lord will be
my everlasting light, and the days of my mourning will be ended, also my people will all
be righteous; they will inherit the land forever, the branch of His planting. The work of
His hands, that He may be glorified. A little one will become a thousand, and a small one
a strong nation. He, the Lord will hasten it in its time.
