ABSTRACT The connection for the synchronous

motor is illustrated at the figure.
The experiment will show how a dc
generator produces power with magnet that is
controlled by a current source.

KEYWORDS

Shunt - a precision resistor that allows the safe

measurement of potentially high electric current.
Placed in series (inline) with a current-carrying
conductor, a shunt's low resistance creates very
little voltage drop compared to other items in the
circuit, so it consumes almost no energy.

CONCLUSIONS

 If the generator has no load there is no

power consumed but the voltage is at
its maximum, and when load is
applied, current and power is
acquired. Power and current rises
while voltage decrease when load
resistance is declining.
 Increasing the current across the
shunt would also increase the output
voltage, it makes the magnetism
stronger.
 Reversing the connection in the
shunt or changing the leads of the
output would also change the
polarity of the output, this because
the direction of flux has become
opposite.
