Mess Attendance System

Executive Summary :
The number of students increases day by day due to which there is a difficulty in
the maintenance of the attendance system of the mess. There should be the proper
system for the hostel mess attendance. The problems that we faced is the that
students mark the attendance of other students this is happened because there is
not card or proper slip checking just enter the mess and tell the person standing
on the door of mess your mess number without showing your slip. If this behavior
was maintained, then the number of difficulties of the students becomes greater
day by day which can not be overcome. So, it is the time to resolve this problem
when it is started instead, we resolve it when it was at its peak. There should be a
proper software and hardware-based system through which the students mark
their attendance. There should be a fingerprint-based system through which the
students mark their attendance through the fingerprint and by taking this step the
problem was resolved this is the most convenient way to reduce the risk to
minimum level that other students mark the attendance of other students. Make
the mess attendance system software based as soon as possible. There should be
the proper arrangement for the maintenance of the attendance system. There
should be proper arrangement for that each student mark the attendance or not ?
this step will ensure that the student mark his attendance not the others. This is
the responsibility of the mess in-charge that attendance should be marked fairly.
The solution other than the fingerprint-based attendance system that there should
be the card of the students which can be checked before he marked his attendance
by taking this step when can ensure the fair attendance system. By taking these
steps the number complains of the students about their attendance becomes
reduce to minimum level. The cost of the fingerprint-based system and the card-
based system should be same. There is number of similarities.
Technical Section :
There should be the number of solutions are given to ensure the fair attendance
system of the mess.

 Fingerprint based system.

 Smartcard based system.

Fingerprint-based system:
The problems that we faced in the mess attendance system of hostel that should
be controlled using the fingerprint-based attendance system. The problem was
increased due to the that there should be no proper arrangement to check that each
student mark his own attendance or other
student attendance. This problem arises
commonly on weekdays. The students mark
the attendance of the student who are on
vacations. In this way the student who are not
eating food but present in the mess. Through
fingerprint-based system the students can
mark their own attendance and they can not
mark the attendance of the other students. The
fingerprint base system is the easiest way to
control that issue that increases day by day.
The cost of the fingerprint system to
implement was not so high it was within the
range. The solution to stop this problem is to implement the fingerprint-based
attendance system. The fingerprint attendance was very helpful. The fingerprint
of each student was recorded in the system with its mess number in the system.
When the student place his fingerprint on the scanner then it simply show his
mess number on the screen and mark his attendance in the system. In case he want
his double attendance he simply put his finger on the scanner this time the scanner
mark his second attendance and show his mess number on the screen and also
show that it was his second attendance.

Smartcard-based System :
The smartcard-based system is also the solution to ensure that the student which
is present in the mess marked his own attendance and due to this result the
responsibility of the mess in charge was fulfilled. Each and every student has its
card through which he marked his own
attendance of the mess there is chip in
the card and there is a number stored in
the chip when the comes in contact
with the scanner it reads basically the
number stored in the chip and after that
mark the attendance of the student. By
taking this step the attendance issue
was resolved.

The most convenient solution of this problem is the fingerprint-based attendance system.
Management Section :

The management is the main aspect of the problem. There is a member of the
mess in charge on the door of the mess which ensure that each student mark his
student. There is proper arrangement that the record of each student should be
entered in the system. There should be proper arrangement that the system does
not crash during the attendance of the mess. There is a proper arrangement that
the system mark the attendance of the system which scans his card. Scanners
should be checked properly. The proper arrangement and management of the
system should be ensured. The replacement of the hardware when it is needed
should be implemented when it is needed.
Financial Section :

The cost to implement the both solutions are same to some extent. If we
implement the fingerprint-based attendance system, then we simply need money
to buy the fingerprint scanner and the system where the data of each student was
stored. And if we implement the smartcard system the we need money for the
making of the card of each student of the mess. We also spent money to buy a
scanner . if we see through financially which solution will be suitable then the
fingerprint-based attendance system was suitable as compared to the smartcard
attendance system. This will need a less money to implement and it can be
managed easily.
