DAMAGE IN TRANSPORTATION
All packages should be closely examined at time of delivery. If damage is apparent write “Damage In
Shipment” on ALL copies of the freight or express bill BEFORE delivery is accepted or “signed for” by
a GE representative or hospital receiving agent. Whether noted or concealed, damage MUST be
reported to the carrier immediately upon discovery, or in any event, within 14 days after receipt, and the
contents and containers held for inspection by the carrier. A transportation company will not pay a claim
for damage if an inspection is not requested within this 14 day period.

Call Traffic and Transportation, Milwaukee, WI (262) 827-3468 or 8*285-3468 immediately after
damage is found. At this time be ready to supply name of carrier, delivery date, consignee name, freight
or express bill number, item damaged and extent of damage.

Complete instructions regarding claim procedure are found in Section “S” of the Policy And Procedures
Bulletins.

CERTIFIED ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR STATEMENT


All electrical Installations that are preliminary to positioning of the equipment at the site prepared for the
equipment shall be performed by licensed electrical contractors. Other connections between pieces of
electrical equipment, calibrations and testing shall be performed by qualified GE Medical Systems
personnel. In performing all electrical work on these products, GE will use its own specially trained field
engineers. All of GE’s electrical work on these products will comply with the requirements of the
applicable electrical codes.

The purchaser of GE equipment shall only utilize qualified personnel (i.e., GE’s field engineers,
personnel of third-party service companies with equivalent training, or licensed electricians) to perform
electrical servicing on the equipment.

If there are any omissions, errors or suggestions for improving this documentation, please contact the
GE Medical Systems Global Documentation Group with specific information listing the system type,
manual title, part number, revision number, page number and suggestion details. Mail the information

Section 1-1
Introduction

This Service instructions describe the LOGIQ™ S6 software option installation as follows:

NOTICE The Stress Echo, 4D, Vocal-volume calculation, and VCI-Volume contrast imaging require 512MB
memory option.

Section 1-5
Procedure
READ and UNDERSTAND these instructions thoroughly before proceeding with the installation.
Perform each step in sequence and check it off when completed. If a problem occurs after completion,
go back through the procedures and check for implementation errors before contacting your Ultrasound
Region Engineer.

1-5-1 Preparations
• Option strings (This is a option key with a sequence of letters and numbers. Consult your local GE
personnel.)

1-5-2 Installing Option Key Strings


1.) Push the Power switch approximately 2 seconds.
2.) The SYSTEM EXIT window appears. Click on Logoff.

3.) Press UTILITY > Admin on the touch panel.


4.) The OPERATOR LOGIN window appears.
Change the User level to Admin, then enter Password. Then click on Log on.

5.) Select Utility > Admin > System Admin.

6.) Enter Option string into New Key dialogue box. Click on Add, then Save.

• If an option fails to install, delete it as follows:


a.) Click on the option key string to be deleted from the SW Option Key list.
b.) Click on Remove.
c.) Click on Utility to confirm it.

1-5-3-1 Advanced3D
1.) Press 3D key on the keyboard.
2.) Touch 3D soft key on the touch panel.

3.) Verify that Adv3D tab appears.

1-5-3-2 B-Flow

NOTICE You can use 10L, M12L, 7L, 12L, 3.5C, 3.5CS, 4C, or T739 probe for this check-out.

1.) Connect any of probe listed above into a probe connector.

2.) Select the related probe on the touch panel.
3.) Verify that “Option not available” message does NOT appear when the B-Flow button is pressed.

1-5-3-3 Coded Contrast

NOTICE You can use 10L, 7L, 3.5C, 3.5CS, 4C, M3S or 3S probe for this check-out.

Verify that “Option not available” message does NOT appear when the Contrast button is pressed.

1-5-3-4 DICOM

DICOM Setting
After installing DICOM option software, you must set the parameters to establish communications
between the scanner and DICOM device(s).

1.) Touch the Utility button on the Touch Panel.


2.) Touch the Connectivity button on the Touch Panel.

3.) Click on Device tab. Device setting screen appears.


4.) Click on Add and enter Name and IP Address of the destination device in Properties.

5.) Click on Save.

Item Descriptions

Select the device name to which the scanner is connected via network.
Name
When the DICOM device is not listed in this menu, add a new device using Add button.

IP address Enter IP Address of the DICOM device to which the scanner is connected via network.

6.) Click on Service tab. Service setting screen appears.


7.) Select DICOM device type (ex. Dicom Image Storage) then click on Add.
8.) Set the parameters below. Set other parameters if necessary.
9.) Click on Save.

Name You can enter the name which you desire.

AE Title DICOM Application Entity Title of the DICOM Server

Port No. Port Number of the DICOM Server

10.)Click on Buttons tab. Set the parameters below:

a.) Select the button assigned for DICOM device.


b.) Click on DICOM device type (ex. Dicom Image Storage).
c.) Click on >> button to add Printflow View.
d.) Click on Save.

11.)Restart the system.


12.)If the DICOM device requires the scanner setting at the device side, set the parameters to
communicate with the scanner.
- For AE title and IP address of the scanner, check them using Connectivity > TCPIP >
Computer Name and IP address.

Functional Check
Send an image via DICOM to a DICOM device (server, printer.), then verify that it should be received
with no error.

Verify that “Option not available” message does NOT appear when the LOGIQView button is pressed.

1-5-3-6 CrossXBeam
When using a linear probe, the half-tone dot meshing of the CrossXBeam button disappears.

1-5-3-7 On-Board Report


Click on Report on the touch panel, then verify that the DESIGNER button in Reports can be used.

1-5-3-8 Stress Echo
1.) Select Preset > Card (Cardiac).

2.) Select Scan > Protocol. Verify that the protocol screens appears on the CRT monitor and the
protocol buttons appears on the LCD screen.

1.) Enter the color mode.

1.) Connect a sector probe to the scanner.
2.) Select a cardiac application.
3.) Press the PFD button.
4.) Verify that TVI tab appears on the touch panel screen.

1.) Select B mode and touch SRI HD to verify that level selection button appears.

1-5-3-12 Vocal-Volume Calculation
1.) Connect and select 4D probe. Press 3D/4D button. This operation enter pre-4D mode.

2.) Press L button. The 4D screen appears.

3.) Press Freeze button.


4.) Verify that “Vocal” tab appears on the touch panel screen.

5.) Touch Vocal tab. Verify that the vocal menu appears on the screen.

1.) Connect and select 4D probe. Press 3D/4D button. This operation enter pre-4D mode.

2.) Press L button. The 4D screen appears.

3.) Press Freeze button.


4.) Verify that “Static 3D” tab appears on the touch panel screen.
5.) Touch Static 3D and Visualization, then verify that VCI Static button appears

1-5-4 Final Procedure
1.) Unscrew four screws and remove the Right Side Cover. Refer to Components Replacement in
Chapter 8, LOGIQ™ 7 Service Manual, 5162630 (included in LOGIQ S6 eDoc CD (5166927-200)).
2.) Attach the Option Label onto the Nest Cover as shown in Figure 1-6.

3.) Re-install the Right Side Cover. Refer to Components Replacement in Chapter 8, LOGIQ™ 7
Service Manual, 5162630.
4.) Fill out the proper customer information on the Product Locator Card. Mail the installation card
“Product Locator” to the address corresponding to your region.

NOTE: The Product Locator Card indicated in Figure 1-7 may be different from the actually provided on.

5.) Properly dispose of excess material.


6.) Keep these option service instructions with LOGIQ™ 7 Service Manual.
7.) This completes the installation of the LOGIQ™ 7 Software Option.
