At the Start of the Eucharistic Celebration
The commentator says the following at start of the Mass:

Good afternoon brothers and sisters.


We are gathered today to witness the Marriage
of Brylle Ishmael Erickson V. Suero and Marjhu S. Benosa.
The mass will be presided by
Rev. Fr. Dennis S. Soriano.
The bridal march shall now begin.

THE INTRODUCTORY RITES


Entrance
When the people are gathered, the presider approaches the altar with the ministers while the Entrance Chant is
sung.

Entrance Antiphon Cf. Ps 89: 14, 17


At dawn, O Lord, fill us with your merciful love,
and we shall exult and rejoice all our days.
Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us
and upon the work of our hands (E.T. alleluia).
When he has arrived at the altar, after making a profound bow with the ministers, the presider venerates the altar
with a kiss and, if appropriate, incenses the cross and the altar. Then, with the ministers, he goes to the chair.
When the Entrance Chant is concluded, the presider and the faithful, standing, sign themselves with the Sign of the
Cross, while the presider, facing the people, says:

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
The people reply:

Amen.
Greeting
Then the presider, extending his hands, greets the people, saying:

The Lord be with you..

Lord God, heavenly King,

THE LITURGY OF THE WORD


Reading I  Genesis 2: 18-24
The lector proclaims the reading

A reading from the Book of Genesis.


The Lord God said: “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make
a suitable partner for him.” So the Lord God formed out of the ground
various wild animal and various birds of the air, and he brought them to
the man to see what he would call them; whatever the man called each
of them would be its name. The man gave names to all the cattle, all the
birds of the air, and all the wild animals; but none proved to be suitable
partner for the man. So the Lord God cast a deep sleep on the man, and
while he was asleep, he took out one of his ribs and close up its place
with flesh. The Lord God then build up into a woman the rib that he had
taken from the man. When he brought her to the man, the man said:
“This one, at last, is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; this one
shall be called ‘woman’ for out of ‘her man’ this one has been taken.”

That is why a man leaves his father and mother and clings to his wife,
and the two of them become one body.

Reading II Ephesians 5:2a, 25 - 32
The lector proclaims the reading

A reading from the Letter of Paul to the Ephesians.


Follow the way of love, even as Christ loved you. He gave himself for us as
an offering to God, a gift of pleasing fragrance. Defer to one another out
of reverence for Christ. Wives should be submissive to their husbands as
if to the Lord. Because the husband is head of his wife just as Christ is
head of his body the church, as well as its savior. As the church submits
to Christ, so wives should submit to their husbands in everything.
Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church. He gave himself
up for her to make her holy, purifying her in the bath of water by the
power of the word, to present to himself a glorious church, holy and
immaculate, without stain or wrinkle or anything of the sort. Husbands
should love their wives as they do their own bodies. He who loves his
wife love’s himself. Observe that no one ever hates his own flesh; no, he
nourishes it and takes care of it as Christ cares for the church for we are
members of his body. “For this reason a man shall leave his father and
mother, and shall cling to his wife, and the two shall be made into one.”

This is a great foreshadowing; I mean that it refers to Christ and the
church. In any case, each one should love his wife as he loves himself,
the wife for her part showing respect for her husband.
The word of the Lord.

The commentator says Let us honor the holy Gospel. Please stand.

The presider gives the homily.

LITURGY OF MARRIAGE
Allocution
After the homily all stand, also the spouses, and the Priest addresses the couple with these or similar words.
After the homily, the Priest, stands before the bride and bridegroom and questions them about their freedom,
faithfulness to each, other, and the acceptance and upbringing of children. He then invites the couple to declare their
consent. (Rite of Marriage nos. 24-26)

Commentator: May we call on the parents of the bride and groom and the
principal sponsors to stand behind the bride and groom as
witnesses.
Fr. Dennis: Dearly beloved Brylle and Marjhu, you are here today to
seal your love with an eternal bond before the Church. I
assure you of the prayers of our community, that God pour
His abundant blessings on your love and help you to carry
out the duties of the married state.
And you, dear parents, sponsors, brothers and sisters,
relatives and friends, may I ask you to help them with your
prayers and accept them as a new couple in our Christian
Community.
Scrutiny
Addressing the couple:

Fr. Dennis: May I now ask you to answer truthfully the following
questions.
Now the priest questions them about their freedom of choice, faithfulness to each other, and the acceptance and
upbringing of children.

Fr. Dennis (to the bride): Marjhu, did you come here of your own free will to
bind yourself for ever in the love and service of your
husband?
Marjhu: Yes, Father.
Fr. Dennis (to the groom): Brylle, did you come here of your own free will to
bind yourself for ever in the love and service of your wife?
Brylle: Yes, Father.

Fr. Dennis (to both): Are you both ready to raise as good Christians the children
whom God will give you?
Brylle & Marjhu: Yes, Father.
Exchange of Consent
Fr. Dennis: Brylle and Marjhu, since you wish to contract Holy
Matrimony, please join your right hands and express your
intention before God and His Church.
They join their right hands.
To the bride.

Fr. Dennis: Marjhu, do you take Brylle, here present, for your lawful
husband, according to the rite of our Holy Mother, the
Church?
Marjhu: Yes, I do.
Fr. Dennis: Do you give yourself to him as his wife?
Marjhu: Yes, I do.
Fr. Dennis: Do you accept him as your lawful husband?
Marjhu: Yes, I do.
To the Groom.

Fr. Dennis: Brylle, do you take Marjhu, here present, for your lawful
wife, according to the rite of our Holy Mother, the Church?
Brylle: Yes, I do.
Fr. Ron: Do you give yourself to him as her husband?
Brylle: Yes, I do.
Fr. Ron: Do you accept her as your lawful wife?
Brylle: Yes, I do.
Fr. Ron: Now please pray together with me:
Groom and Bride pray together with the Priest or after him.

Brylle & Marjhu: Grant us, O Lord, to be one heart and one soul,
from this day forward, for better, for worse,
for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health,
until death do us part.

Confirmation of the Marriage Bond
Fr. Dennis: And I, by the authority of the Church, calling on all those
here present as witnesses, confirm and bless the bond of
marriage which you have contracted. In the name of the
Father, and of the Son, X and of the Holy Spirit.
All: Amen.
Commentator: The parents and the principal sponsors may now be seated.
May we call on the bearers for the Arrhae and Rings to
bring them to the altar for the blessing.
Blessing of the Arrhae and the Rings
A server brings the plate with the arrhae and the rings.
Putting aside the pastoral staff, the Priest blesses the rings and, as circumstances suggest, sprinkles them with holy
water and hands them to the bridegroom and bride, who places them on each other’s ring finger. (Rite of Marriage
nos. 27-28)

Fr. Dennis: Brylle and Marjhu, we shall now bless your arrhae and rings.
Our help is in the name of the Lord.
All: Who made heaven and earth.
Fr. Dennis (blessing the arrhae):
Let us pray.
Bless X O Lord, your servants, Brylle and Marjhu, with
sufficiency of material possessions, which these arrhae
symbolize, so that they may use them to attain eternal life.
Through Christ our Lord.
All: Amen.
Fr. Dennis (blessing the rings):
Let us pray.
Lord, bless X and consecrate Brylle and Marjhu in their love
for each other. May these rings a be a symbol of true faith
in each other, and always remind them of their love. We ask
this through Christ our Lord.
All: Amen.
The Priest sprinkles the arrhae and rings with holy water. Even though the rings and arrhae are used in other

weddings, and therefore have already been blessed, the blessings are not, on that account, to be omitted. They are
intended for the contracting parties rather than for the objects blessed.

Giving of the Rings and the Arrhae


The Priest picks up the wedding rings from the tray and says.

Fr. Dennis: Now give these rings to each other.


It is a very old custom in the Philippines to have the wedding rings of the groom and the bride on the ring finger of
the right hand.
The Priest takes the bride’s ring and gives it to the groom, who places it on the ring finger of the bride saying:

Brylle: Marjhu, wear this ring as a sign of my love and loyalty. In


the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Now the Priest takes the groom’s ring and gives it to the bride, she puts it on the ring finger of the groom saying:

Marjhu: Brylle, wear this ring as a sign of my love and loyalty. In the
name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Now the groom gives the arrhae to the bride.
The groom takes the arrhae in both hands. The bride places in cupped hands under those of the groom. The groom
lets the arrhae fall into the hands of the bride, saying:

Brylle: I give you these arrhae as a pledge of my dedication to your


welfare. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of
the Holy Spirit.
Marjhu: And I accept them.
The bride places the arrhae on the tray held by the server.
The Priest congratulates them, and goes back to the altar. The people may give a sign of approval.
When called for by the rubrics, the profession of faith is said; the general intercessions take place in the usual way.

Prayer of the Faithful
From the chair, the presider initiates the general intercessions

My dear friends, let us accompany this new family with our prayers,
that their love for each other may grow through the years and that God
may bless all families throughout the world: Lord, graciously hear us.
The petitions are announced from the ambo.

1. For Brylle and Marjhu; who stand before us today, and for the future
well-being of this family. Let us pray to the Lord:
2. For their families and friends and all who have helped them reach this
moment. Let us pray to the Lord:
3. For all young people who look forward to their own wedding day for all
whom God has called to other ways of life. Let us pray to the Lord:
4. For families throughout the world and for peace among all nations. Let
us pray to the Lord:
5. For our relatives and friends who have departed this world and for all
those who have died. Let us pray to the Lord:
6. For God’s holy people, the Church, and for the unity of all who bear the
name of Christian. Let us pray to the Lord.
The presider concludes

Lord Jesus, you stand in our midst as Brylle and Marjhu exchange their
vows today; graciously accept our prayer and fill us with the presence of
your Holy Spirit, for you live and reign for ever and ever.
All: Amen.
Commentator: May we call on the sponsors of the candle, veil and cord.

THE LITURGY OF THE EUCHARIST
When all this has been done, the Offertory Chant begins. Meanwhile, the ministers place the corporal, the purificator,
the chalice, the pall, and the Missal on the altar.
It is desirable that the faithful express their participation by making an offering, bringing forward bread and wine for
the celebration of the Eucharist and perhaps other gifts to relieve the needs of the Church and of the poor.
the presider, standing at the altar, takes the paten with the bread and holds it slightly raised above the altar with
both hands, saying in a low voice:
Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation,
for through your goodness we have received
the bread we offer you:
fruit of the earth and work of human hands,
it will become for us the bread of life.
Then he places the paten with the bread on the corporal.
The Deacon, or the presider, pours wine and a little water into the chalice, saying quietly:
By the mystery of this water and wine
may we come to share in the divinity of Christ
who humbled himself to share in our humanity.
the presider then takes the chalice and holds it slightly raised above the altar with both hands, saying in a low voice:
Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation,
for through your goodness we have received
the wine we offer you:
fruit of the vine and work of human hands,
it will become our spiritual drink.
Then he places the chalice on the corporal.
After this, the presider, bowing profoundly, says quietly:
With humble spirit and contrite heart
may we be accepted by you, O Lord,
and may our sacrifice in your sight this day
be pleasing to you, Lord God.
If appropriate, he also incenses the offerings, the cross, and the altar. A Deacon or other minister then incenses the
presider and the people.
Then the presider, standing at the side of the altar, washes his hands, saying quietly:
Wash me, O Lord, from my iniquity
and cleanse me from my sin.

t is truly right and just,


our duty and our salvation,
always and everywhere to give you thanks,
Lord, holy Father, almighty and eternal God,
through Christ our Lord.
For in him you have made a new covenant with your people,
so that, as you have redeemed man and woman
by the mystery of Christ’s Death and Resurrection,
so in Christ you might make them partakers of divine nature
and joint heirs with him of heavenly glory.
In the union of husband and wife
you give a sign of Christ’s loving gift of grace,
so that the Sacrament we celebrate might draw us back more deeply
into the wondrous design of your love.
And so, with the Angels and all the Saints,
we praise you, and without end we acclaim:

Eucharistic Prayer II
The Priest, with hands extended, says:  Presider alone

You are indeed Holy, O Lord, the fount of all holiness.


He joins his hands and, holding them extended over the offerings, says: Presider and concelebrants

Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray,


by sending down your Spirit upon them like the dewfall,
He joins his hands and makes the Sign of the Cross once over the bread and the chalice together, saying:

so that they may become for us


the Body and X Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
He joins his hands.
In the formulas that follow, the words of the Lord should be pronounced clearly and distinctly, as the nature of these
words requires.

At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his Passion,
He takes the bread and, holding it slightly raised above the altar, continues:

he took bread and, giving thanks, broke it,


and gave it to his disciples, saying:
He bows slightly.
TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU, AND EAT OF IT,

He shows the consecrated host to the people, places it again on the paten, and genuflects in adoration.

Therefore,
as we celebrate the memorial of his Death and Resurrection,
we offer you, Lord,
the Bread of life and the Chalice of salvation,
giving thanks that you have held us worthy
to be in your presence and minister to you.
Humbly we pray
that, partaking of the Body and Blood of Christ,
we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit.

Remember, Lord, your Church,


spread throughout the world,
and bring her to the fullness of charity,
together with Francis our Pope and Honesto our Bishop

The Communion Rite
The Lord’s Prayer
After the chalice and paten have been set down, the presider, with hands joined, says:

At the Savior’s command


and formed by divine teaching,
we dare to say:

O
He extends his hands and, together with the people, continues:

ur Father, who art in heaven,


hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
After the Our Father, the prayer Deliver us is omitted. The Priest, standing and facing the bride and bridegroom,
invokes upon them God’s blessing, and this is never omitted.
In the invitation, if one or both of the spouses will not be receiving Communion, the words in parentheses are omitted.
In the prayer, the words in parentheses may be omitted if it seems that circumstances suggest it, for example, if the
bride and bridegroom are dvanced in years.
The bride and bridegroom approach the altar or, if appropriate, they remain at their place and kneel.
The Priest, with hands joined, calls upon those present to pray, saying:

Let us pray to the Lord for this bride and groom,


who come to the altar as they begin their married life,
that (partaking of the Body and Blood of Christ)
they may always be bound together by love for one another.
And all pray in silence for a while.

Then the Priest, with hands extended over the bride and bridegroom, continues:

Holy Father,
who formed man in your own image,
male and female you created them,
so that as husband and wife, united in body and heart,
they might fulfill their calling in the world;
O God, who, to reveal the great design you formed in your love,
willed that the love of spouses for each other
should foreshadow the covenant you graciously made with your
people,
so that, by fulfillment of the sacramental sign,
the mystical marriage of Christ with his Church
might become manifest
in the union of husband and wife among your faithful;
Graciously stretch out your right hand
over these your servants Brylle and Marjhu, we pray,
and pour into their hearts the power of the Holy Spirit.
Grant, O Lord,
that, as they enter upon this sacramental union,
they may share with one another the gifts of your love
and, by being for each other a sign of your presence,
become one heart and one mind.
May they also sustain, O Lord, by their deeds
the home they are forming
(and prepare their children
to become members of your heavenly household
by raising them in the way of the Gospel).
Graciously crown with your blessings your daughter Marjhu,
so that, by being a good wife (and mother),
she may bring warmth to her home with a love that is pure

and adorn it with welcoming graciousness.
Bestow a heavenly blessing also, O Lord,
on Brylle, your servant,
that he may be a worthy, good and
faithful husband (and a provident father).
Grant, holy Father,
that, desiring to approach your table
as a couple joined in Marriage in your presence,
they may one day have the joy
of taking part in your great banquet in heaven.
Through Christ our Lord.

The prayer Lord Jesus Christ is omitted, and The peace of the Lord is said immediately.
Then the bride and bridegroom and all present offer a sign, in keeping with local customs, that expresses peace,
communion and charity.

Rite of Peace
the presider, turned towards the people, extending and then joining his hands, adds:

The peace of the Lord be with you always.


The people reply:

And with your spirit.


Then, if appropriate, the Deacon, or the presider, adds:

Let us offer each other the sign of peace.


And all offer one another a sign, in keeping with local customs, that expresses peace, communion, and charity. the
presider gives the sign of peace to a Deacon or minister.

Breaking of the Bread and Commingling


Then he takes the host, breaks it over the paten, and places a small piece in the chalice, saying quietly:
May this mingling of the Body and Blood
of our Lord Jesus Christ
