These instructions are for the installation of Intermec PC43T printers on PCs with Windows 7
operating systems.
1. Unpack the PC43t printer. DO NOT plug the USB cable into the PC until instructed.
a. Install ribbon and labels, plug USB cable into the printers USB printer port, BUT NOT
THE PC then power the PC43t printer on.
2. Download the Intermec PC43t Label Printer driver software from the CARQUESTLink
Patch Center and install it on your PC.
Select the option ‘I accept the terms of the license agreement’. Then click Next.

Select Install.
At this point, plug in the usb cable from the printer and make sure it is on. Then select Next when the button is
active.
Select the Intermec PC43t (203 dpi) driver. Then click Next.

Select Finish on the next which will prompt a Windows Security. Check the box to ‘Always trust
software from ‘Seagull Scientific, Inc’.

d. Click on Preferences…

f. Enter 2.2 (55.9 mm) in the Width and 1.13 (28.7 mm) in the Height, then OK
g. Select the “Stock” tab, then make the following changes, then click the
“Advanced” button.

h. Change Media Sensitivity to Very Low then click OK. Then click
Apply on the “Stock” tab screen.
Uncheck “automatic start stop” start adjust = -0.55 inches ( -13.97 mm)
i. Select the “Options” tab then change the Print Speed to “3.94
in/sec” (~100 mm/sec), then click Apply, then OK to return to the
Properties screen.

j. Select the “Advanced” tab, then the “Printing Defaults” button.

l. Enter 2.2 (55.9mm) in the Width and 1.13 (28.7mm)in the Height, then OK

m. Select the “Stock” tab, then make the following changes, then click the
“Advanced” button.
n. Change Media Sensitivity to Very Low then click OK. Then click Apply
on the “Stock” tab screen.

o. Select the “Options” tab then change the Print Speed to “3.94 in/sec”,
then click Apply, then OK to return to the Properties screen.

p. Select the “Tools” tab.

r. Verify “Store configuration in non-volatile memory” is checked, then click OK
to return to the Properties screen.
s. If this is a Win7 pc, the driver’s bidirectional support setting should be disabled. See
image below. Uncheck “Enable bidirectional support”.

The Intermec PF8t and PC43t printer driver configurations have changed with the R57.14 Exploris
release.
Intermec PF8t Configuration
Select the drop down arrow beside Stock Name and delete out the CARQUEST and TLS Tools
label stocks that are being used.

The PC43t printer should now be ready to print labels.
After completing the PC43t installation process, if the printer will not print correctly, or not at all,
or if other issues are experienced it may be necessary to return the PC43T back to factory
default settings, recalibrate the PC43t and restart Exploris.
Return the PC43t back to factory default settings
i. Turn the printer off
ii. Lift the printer lid (like you would if you were replacing the ribbon)
iii. Turn the printer on and the icons will start flashing
iv. When the bottom row of icons goes out, press and hold the feed button
v. When the red wrench icon begins 1 flashing (with the feed button held down),

release the feed button
vi. Close the lid (it will take about a minute to complete the configuration) and wait
for a solid blue light and a beep
Recalibrate the labels
vii. Press the feed button for 2 seconds, then release and 4 blank labels
should feed out indicating a successful calibration
Restart Exploris
Other notes:
When you first power up the Intermec PC43t all of the icons on the display will illuminate. They
blink off in secession as the printer initializes.
Remove all Honeywell/Intermec/Seagull printer drivers from PC for a clean PC43t printer installation
a. Click on the Windows Start icon in the lower left corner of the screen then navigate to
Devices and Printers.
b. Double click on the “Intermec PC43t (203 dpi)” icon.
c. Click on Printer then Properties from the drop down menu
d. Click on Preferences…

e. Click the “Advanced Options” button.

f. For left to right printing adjustments, set the Horizontal Offset. For up and down printing
adjustments, Vertical Offset.(The common adjustment is 0.15 (3.81 mm)for the
Horizontal Offset to shift the printing left to the right.)
