These are the factors which enhance the performance of the team. Leaders can improve team
performance by using these factors in positive way. Teams are builds in organization to perform
some specific task and assignments for short time period and long time period. These are the
factors which are used by the management to improve the performance of teams and achieve
organizational goal.

 Commitment to shared
Group performance will be higher when its members are highly motivated to attain shared
objective. Leadership behavior that are especially relevant for increasing member
commitment to shared objectives include articulating an appealing vision of what can be
accomplished by the team.

 Member skills and role clarity


Team members must have to know about their work and they have skills to fulfill their work and
they should be clear in their work that what they should want to do and why they should do it. A
leader can do several things to improve the level of member’s skills.

 International organization and coordination


The performance of a team depends not only on the motivation and skills of members. But also
and how members are organized to use their skills. A high level of coordination is especially
important when the team performs a complex task under rapidly changing conditions. The
performance of a team also depends upon adjusting their activities to be consistent with the
activities of interdependent units inside the organization.
 External coordination
Coordination is sharing information and resources so that each member can accomplish
their part in support of a mutual objective. The performance of a team also depends upon
adjusting their activities to be consistent with the activities of interdependent units outside
the organization.

 Resources and political support


This is a very important factor. When organization build a team then it is very important that it is
necessary that can it had resources for it. Political is also very necessary and an important factor.
Group performance is also depends on getting information resources and political support needed
to do the work.

 Mutual trust and cooperation


A well-organized team may fail in carrying out its mission unless there is a high level of mutual
trust and cooperation among the members. Corporation is more likely when members identify with
the team values their membership in it.

 Collective efficacy and potency


Member’s commitment depend in a part of shared belief of member that the team is capable of
successfully carrying out its mission and achieving specific task and objectives. A highly confident
team is also likely to have a more positive mode. Collective efficacy is likely to be higher for a
team with strong member skills.
Processes face by leadership for Cross functional Teams

There are three process that leadership face for cross functional. Idea Generation, Idea
Structuring and idea promotion.
Idea generation is essential for the leader to stimulate and facilitate creativity by members
Idea structuring is an important function to provide clear objective for the project and explain
how it is relevant for the organization. But also to allow ample autonomy with regard how the
project objective will be attain.
Idea Promotion is necessary resource and support for the project must be obtained for the parent
company organization.
