I. Task Card description

Subject : AMT 121 – Aircraft Pneudraulics

Title of Activity : Repacking of landing gear bearings
Instructor : Mr Villaraga Seth
Duration : 3 hours
Needed Materials :
 grease
 wash basin
 Paint brush
 Kirkland
 Channel lock
 Kerosene for cleaning
 Jack Stand
 Rag cloth

Step 1: Prepare the needed materials

Step 2: lift the landing gear and use jack stand to place it

Step 3: using the channel lock carefully remove the axel nut

Step 4: Carefully remove the bolts and nuts of the brake caliper
 Step 5: carefully remove the wheel and its bearings

Step 6: Clean the bearing using kerosene paint brush and rag cloth

Step 7: repack the bearing

 Step 8: reinstall the bearing and wheel following this order:

Spacer bearing wheel bearing spacer axel nut

Note: it should look like this without the axel nut

Step 9: reinstall the brake caliper

Step 10: carefully tighten the axel nut

Final Step: remove the jack stand and clean your work area.
