I missed being here with everyone these last two
Sundays. Kelly and I were under the weather two weeks
ago, but were able to watch the service via the internet
and this past Sunday we were waiting to board a plane in
New Jersey after a few days in NYC. I heard the morning
service was great and that the Christmas worship service
that evening was a wonderful experience with a packed
house of worshippers.
Most of you know that Christmas is my favorite time of
the year.. Although I would be hard pressed to specify
one favorite thing about this season (other than the
celebration of the birth of Christ), the sending and
receiving of Christmas cards would certainly rank up
there.
This makes the third year in a row that I have failed to
send Christmas cards. I appreciate so much the cards I
receive and I hate that I’ve failed to reciprocate.
I hope you don’t mind that I want to take this space to tell
everyone who reads this how much I appreciate you and
your family and how much I love each of you. I truly hope
and pray each and every one of you has a Christ filled
Christmas and a very
blessed New Year!

remember to place Jesus at the top of your Christmas gift
list by making a generous gift to the Lottie Moon
Christmas Offering! Also, do not forget the Christmas Eve

(combined with 350 during National Collection Week for a
total of 713 OCC Gospel Opportunities)
Children’s Basketball
Register on our website. Practices will be on Sundays @ 4
PM in December. Schedules to be released soon.
Preschool and Children's Committee
January 12, 1:00-3:00 pm at the Herod's home. Bring your
own lunch. Desserts and drinks provided.
Bible Drill - will not meet in the month of December. We
will resume on January 5. A successful skill test will result
in free Rock N Jump tickets.
Bible Drill Retreat - Racing with God’s Word
Jan. 31 - Feb 1 @ Shocco. Cost is $50 if registered
by January 5. After January 5 cost increases to $60

TACKY SWEATER CHRISTMAS PARTY
The Student Ministry 4th Annual Christmas Party is
December 20, 6-8p.m. at Eastmont. This party is open to
all students in grades 7-12 and will include food, music,
games and prizes. Invite your friends and help make this
year's party the best one yet!
WINTER RETREAT JAN. 2-4
We're headed to Chattanooga for Winter Retreat, Jan. 2-
4. All students need a 2020 Medical release notarized
before leaving. Karen is available to notarize Friday, Dec.
20 at the Christmas Party and Sunday, December 29,
following the 10:30 am worship. Speak to Cleve for more
info on these forms.
THE GIVING TREE
Gift ideas for local families in need were placed on the
upstairs hallway wall. Eastmont families may grab as
many items as they desire to supply. Gifts will be
collected the night of the Student Christmas Party, Dec.
20.
DNOW FEBRUARY 14-16
Disciple Now Weekend is scheduled for February. We will
join with churches from all over the River Region for a
weekend of worship and spiritual growth. Save this date
and begin speaking to friends now so this can be our
biggest DNow ever.

This Christmas Eve, we will sing traditional Christmas

March 7-13. Cost $500. Will be working with Missionary
Ben Neiser on the campus of BYU.

Sponsor a Guatemalan Child
We're looking for individuals, families, or Life Group
classes to sponsor a child in Guatemala. For $380/year
you can help an impoverished child to go to school. This
money covers basic supplies, as well as financial support
for the family. We still have 14 children who need
sponsors. For any questions contact Karen Bush.

Couples Retreat
Join Eastmont couples on a weekend away to the Blue
Ridge Mountains on Feb. 7-9. Cost per couple is $160. This
includes lodging, transportation by bus, and 2 meals. Spots
