L2TP CONFIGURATION ON AUDIOCODES
MP-20X
INTRODUCTION

The MP-20x series of Analog Telephone Adapters are cost-effective, advanced 2 and 4 ports ATAs, which
enable fast and smooth migration of traditional analog telephones, fax machines and conference
speakerphones to a Voice over Broadband (VoBB) service as well as the benefit from enhanced offering
in the form of multi lines.

SETUP GUIDE

RESTORING FACTORY SETTINGS

You can restore MP-20x's factory default settings when, for example, you're building a new network
from the beginning or when you cannot recall changes made to the network and you need to go
back to the default configuration.

1.1. To restore default settings via:

1.1.1.In the 'Advanced' screen, click the Restore Factory Settings icon; the 'Restore
Factory Settings' screen is displayed.

 1.1.2.Click OK to restore MP-20x's factory default settings.

1.2. To restore default settings manually:

1.2.1.Disconnect MP-20x DC power cable.

1.2.2.Using a paper clip, press the push-button located on the bottom (base) of MP-20x (a pin
hole located near one of the corners).
1.2.3.While pressing the push-button, power up the device. Keep the push-button pressed for
another 5 seconds.

TO CABLE THE MP-20X:

1.3. Connect the MP-20x's Ethernet 10/100 Base-T RJ-45 connector labeled WAN to your cable or
LTE modem (or other network connection).
1.4. Connect the MP-20x's Ethernet 10/100 Base-T RJ-45 connector labeled LAN/PC to a computer.
1.5. Connect the power cable to the electrical outlet using the AC/DC power adapter; the POWER
LED is lit (green) and when initialization completes (~ 1 minute), the STATUS
1.6. LED changes from red to green.
1.7. Set user PC running for dynamic IP addressing (Assign IP from DHCP)

CONFIGURE L2TP CONNECTION

1.8. Launch a Web browser on your PC.

1.8.1.With your PC connected directly to MP-20x, use URL http://192.168.2.1 to access the

 1.8.3.Assign new password for the device

1.9. In the “Advanced” screen select the “System Settings” . Enter the L2TP tunnel group
name in ‘Gateway’s Hostname’ under ‘System’. Example :- <LSN_GRP-01>
1.9.1.Click Apply and OK

1.10. Click “Network Connections”
1.10.1. Click “New Connection”

1.10.2. Select “Advanced Connection” and click “Next”

1.10.3. Select “Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol (L2TP)” and click “Next”

 1.10.4. Enter PPP connection details as per below

1.10.5. Click “Next”

1.10.6. Unselect “Edit the Newly Created Connection” and click “Finish”

1.11. Telnet to device

1.11.1. Ender username and password (Example: “admin” and “admin”)

1.11.2. Enter “conf set_obscure /dev/ppp300/l2tpc/shared_secret test”. Note: test is password
for L2TP tunnel.
1.11.3. Enter “exit”

1.12. In the “Advanced” screen click the “Reboot” icon and “OK”

1.12.1. After the unit is boot. Login to device

1.13. In “Network Connections” select “L2TP”

1.13.1. Under “Settings” tab change “MTU” to “Manual” and set value to “1400”

1.13.2. Click “Apply”

 1.13.3. Under “Routing” tab change “Routing Mode:” to “Route”

1.13.4. Click “Apply”

1.14. In “Network Connections” select “LAN Ethernet” connection

1.14.1. Under “Settings” tab change setting in device IP and DHCP sever setting as below.

1.15. Configuration for L2TP is done. Now test the Internet connection.

NOTE:

If L2TP connection is not established make sure below settings.

1. Recheck configuration under 1.9.

2. Make sure reboot the unit after configure the L2TP settings
