 OBJECTIVE: -

 The main motive of this experiment is to measure force

and strain in marquise truss.

 THEORY:-

 A truss is expected to contain individuals that are connected by

method of pin joints and which is supported at both ends by
method hinged joints or rollers, is known as statically
determinate.
 Statically intermediate are the trusses that are supported at more
than two positions.
 Investigation of these conditions at each node yields the
magnitude of the force in every individual from the truss. These
might be compression or tension forces.
 TRUSS:
Truss consists on two or more than two members

 APPLICATIONS OF TRUSS:-

 The utilization of application of truss applied for some

construction in construction industry.
 In the roof top construction, the utilization of truss can be applied.
 For the purposes of analysis the trusses are thought to be in pin
jointed where the straight segment’s meet.
 Verticals and diagonals will just act in compression or strain which
means that individuals or members are included.
 TYPES OF TRUSS:-

 PROCEDURE:-

 Make sure that the working of apparatus is proper.

 Make the zero reading of the load cell and then rise the load by 20N by looking at
the computerized load force display. At that point note down the reading of strain
on every joint by turning the dial in display of load cell.
 Again make the zero reading of load cell and then increase the load by 30N, 40N. At
that point note down the strain reading indicating the forces carefully.
 After calculating the digital values, then we need to calculate the values by the joint
method theoretically.
 Then we need to draw the strain graphs of each force. The experiment is finished at
this point.
 METHOD OF DATA COLLECTION:-

STRAIN

METER

FORCE TRUSS
METER
STRUCTURE

I have calculated the forces by utilizing truss structure which has 13 individuals
or members. At that point I got my strain readings by utilizing a digital strain
meter and in advanced digital meter there are 26 points and I utilize 13
members because 13 are just required. Distinctive forces are obtained by
changing the loads in between 20N to 40N.

 CONCLUSION:-

 For this lab it is critical to keep the equipment or tool at the most
highest maintaince and carefully utilize by the students in order to get
right values.
 ASSUMPTIONS:-

 Carefully note down the reading.

 Take consideration of the negative and positive indications of the
reading on the load force display
 Increase the load carefully because the load reading can vary.
 Carefully plug the wires in the slot and avoid loose connections for
exact reading.

 HEALTH AND SAFETY:-

 Carefully deals with the wire.

 Carefully plug the wires in the slot to keep away from any block in
working of part.
 Deal with the fragile component in the lab with tolerance as it can
destroy the polytechnic’s property.
