Os valores críticos, também conhecidos como valores de pânico ou de alerta, são resultados laboratoriais que indicam uma situação de risco de vida para o
paciente. Devido à sua natureza crítica, é necessária a notificação urgente de um valor crítico para o profissional de saúde apropriado. A Tabela 50-3 foi
adaptada a partir de extensa pesquisa nacional. A média ou mediana do limite crítico determinado por essas pesquisas está exibido. Na prática, cada
organização deve ter seu próprio conjunto de limites críticos e sua política de notificação médica.
