DEGREES OF COMPARISON

Baik kata sifat (adjectives) maupun kata keterangan (adverbs) mempunyai tiga tingkat
perbandingan, yaitu tiga cara untuk membandingkan sifat atau keadaan dua
benda/orang atau lebih. Ketiga cara tersebut yaitu:
1. Tingkat positive (biasa)
2. Tingkat comparative (lebih)
3. Tingkat superlative (paling)
Cara membuat tingkat perbandingannya:
A. Kata-kata sifat yang terdiri dari satu suku kata ditambah (–er + than) pada
comparative dan (the + -est) pada superlative. Beberapa kata sifat termasuk kelompok ini
mendapat “double consonant” pada comparative dan superlative.
