The Hero Game

The idea behind this is to turn smash bros into a turn based rpg. This was designed for use with
Super Smash Bros Ultimate but can be adjusted to play with any Smash gam. A lot of the
inspiration for this mini game comes from Dungeons and Dragons but I might subconsciously
pull from other sources.

Side notes:
● Any stage without a moving platform is allowed.
■ Recommended to not use stages that move or have walkoffs
○ Stage hazards should be off.
○ Full list of recommended stages will be below
● Items may be on if you so chose.
● Recommend 3 stocks with no timelimit
● Recommend (for extra fun) turn of the damage % shown

Set Up:
1. Pick a stage
2. Pick a player to go first
3. Select your characters
4. Fight

Rules:
1. Each round is broken up into 1 turn per player
a. Each player gets 1 of the following on each turn
i. Movement
ii. Bonus Action
iii. Action
2. Turns must go in order according to the following
a. Movement
b. Bonus Action
c. Action
3. You can skip any of these to either
a. Skip to the next step
b. Skip to the final step
4. Once you take your characters action your turn is over
5. Movement
a. On your turn you have limited movement; on your turn you can choose one of the
following
i. Rolling a single time in any direction
ii. Jumping
1. once you touch the ground your movement is finished
2. You can double jump and drift mid air
3. Air Dodging
iii. Micro spacing
1. You can simply turn around to face your opponent or face away
from your opponent
b. If you are knocked off the stage and need to recover back to the stage this
counts as your movement
i. Once you grab the ledge your movement is over all you can do is stand
up and have to finish your turn from there
ii. If you recover beyond the ledge your moment is over once you touch the
ground
6. Bonus Actions
i. A specific breakdown of each characters bonus actions and actions can
be found at the bottom of the article. This is a general guide
b. On each of your turns you are allowed one of the following
i. Any special that won’t do specific damage to your opponent; exceptions
include
1. Charge attacks (ex: Hero’s Fire special, Samus’ charge attack,
Piranha Plants poison, Lucario’s / Mewtwo’s energy balls, DK’s
super punch, etc.)
2. Anything that you can charge and hold for later.
ii. Recovery up specials used when no damage is dealt

2. If, at anytime, this deals damage to your opponent it counts as
your action and your turn is over.
iii. Smash attacks
1. Smash attacks are super powerful all out attacks and require both
your bonus action and your action to use.

Jigglypuff’s sing, etc.)

1. If they use their held action it is gone (ex. If you attempt to shield
an attack and they don't use their attack yet)
2. Examples (All characters can use shield, Fox/Falco/Wolf reflector,
Villager pocket, Ness/Lucas PSI magnet, Counters, etc.)
ii. Doing so forfeits the rest of your turn
e. Movement
i. You can also forfeit your action to take an additional movement action.
