Since for this project I was on a budget I was unable to make it my true dream vacation;
however, this is a very fun vacation I still would very much enjoy if I could go on it in real
life.
2. Let’s start with who I am. I’m John, I’m a really big fan of Disney parks. That’s why for
this trip I will be going to Disneyland for a few days. The vacation will be for two people
3. While the map and the numbers may make it seem like Disneyland is far away from
Seattle. Disneyland is not that far away from here. My family isn’t too big fans of road
trips but I don’t mind road trips too much personally. While I haven’t made the drive
down to Disneyland from here, I know of a few people that have completed the drive and
4. The vacation will take place from Saturday June 23rd to Wednesday June 27th. I
decided to put the vacation right after school because I feel like Disneyland is a nice way
5. Of course since it’s California the weather is hot and sunny at around 80°F all five days.
On Saturday the weather has a low of 64 degrees with a high of 84 degrees. On Sunday
degrees and a high of 80 degrees. On Tuesday we have a low of 62 degrees and a high
degrees.
6. There are a few different transportation options. For airplane transit, the best option was
a direct flight from Seatac to LAX for $480 for 2 people nonstop, for 2 hours and 47
minutes. While flights are very convenient, they are expensive not the best option for my
budget.
7. For Bus transportation we have a direct ride from Seattle to the park for $113 per person
for 31 hours and 40 minutes. This is not the best option because not only is the bus ride
very long the ride is also on a bus and spending 31 hours on a bus does not sound like
8. For trains there wasn’t any trains available on the dates I needed and trains available on
different dates took quite a while. So I move onto my final option, by car.
9. For traveling by car. It would be a 19 hour drive but you have another person to drive so
you could split the driving. The gas cost would be around $200 round trip so much
cheaper than the other options which were one way. This makes it the best option
because it is cheap, you can leave whenever you want, and you have a car at the park
in case you decide to take a day off the itinerary outside of the park and explore
10. Since this is disney, the food prices are moderate to high in cost. They have one
restaurant named “Trader Sams” in the moderate cost level. A few restaurants in the
Moderately high cost level and a few more in the high cost level.
11. The hotel I am staying at does offer free breakfast so you can enjoy free breakfast
every morning. I scheduled using the hotel breakfast everyday, one meal at Trader
Sam’s everyday and one meal at a moderately high cost level restaurant everyday for
the trip.
12. For lodging there are many options. There are options from not that expensive, to very
expensive. There are some hotels directly outside the park, some hotels inside the park,
some hotels close to the park, hotels far away from park, many many hotels to choose
from. You are likely to find a hotel to fit your needs, whether you are on a tight or a big
budget.
13. Since I am on a tight budget I choose “The Magnolia Tree” as my hotel. The hotel offers
free Wi-Fi and Breakfast as well as nice rooms and is three blocks away from
Disneyland.
14. For transportation around Disneyland there are many options. Since the hotel is close to
Disneyland, your best bet is probably just walking. You can get around the park by foot
or by the Disneyland railroad as well as a shuttle back to the hotel if needed; however,
15. Now onto the itinerary for the trip. The first day is a travel day. Wake up extremely early
or just don’t fall asleep. Then begin the drive to Disneyland. At 8 AM, take a break and
eat breakfast. Then at 12 PM take another break and eat lunch. Then finally at 5 PM
take another break and eat dinner. The entire schedule could be shifted to later in the
16. On the 2nd day wake up at 6 AM wake up and eat hotel breakfast at 6:30 breakfast. I
choose to wake up this early because Disney opens the park one hour early to hotel
guests on certain days. Then at 7:30 walk to Disneyland at around 7:45 you’ll arrive at
Disneyland then finally at 8 AM you’ll enter Disneyland. While I don’t have meals on the
itinerary, as mentioned in the food slide I did include meals in the budget. I didn’t put it
on the schedule so you can eat whenever you want on vacation. After a full day of fun at
the park around 12 AM when the park closes, return to the hotel and sleep.
17. On the 3rd day wake up at 7 AM at eat breakfast at 7:30. At 8:30 walk to Disneyland and
at 8:45 arrive at Disneyland. Then at 9 AM enter Disneyland. The rest of the schedule is
get some sleep before the big drive the next day.
20. In conclusion, I stayed within the budget. I was most surprised about how expensive the
ticket was. The ticket for both people took up 36% of the budget. As you can see food
took up 27% of the budget, the tickets took up 36%, lodging took up 16%, gas took up
11% and there is the leftover free 10% that could be used for souvenirs or something
else.
21. I was also not expecting as much planning for the trip as it took. I knew everything I had
to factor, I just don’t think it clicked how much planning it actually takes to pull off a dope
vacation. But, I think that if I actually went on the trip, it would be worth it.
