Nokia Integration Guidelines

Pre-requisites

- Engineer should be carrying a laptop with Bluetooth enabled and RJ45 cables.
- Laptop port settings should be set correctly.
- Should be undergone trainings about Small cells port connections.

Common issues.
1. Unable to login to the site

Probable causes

- Laptop port settings are not correct.


- If RJ45 cable is used, it might be connected to wrong ports.
- BTS is faulty or not active.
- Power is not reachable to the BTS.
- Wrong Username/password.
- Bluetooth connection is not established correctly.

Actions need to be taken

- Check power connection to the BTS


- Ensure RJ45 cables are connected to correct port.
o If the backhaul is fiber, connect fiber to port A
o If Ethernet, connect backhaul to port B
- If Bluetooth is connected, ensure, its connected to correct name.
o After configuration, BT name will change. So need to reconnect it.
- Login settings
o IP Address: Local
o User name: Nemuadmin
o Password: nemuuser
2. Sending parameter failed

Probable causes

- BTS Not responding


- Connection lost to the BTS
- Wrong port settings

Actions need to be taken

- Give a power reset to the BTS


- Check the connection is correct to the BTS and try to reconnect the BT/LAN.
- Check port connection
o If the Backhaul is connected to port A, in BTS SM setting should be
 Primary backhaul interface: EIF1
 Local management tool: EIF2
o If the back haul is connected to Port B, in BTS SM settings should be
 Primary backhaul interface: EIF2
 Local management tool: EIF1
o If Daisy chain is used, follow below procedures.

3. OAM disconnected

If BTS commissioned and OAM disconnected

Possible causes

- Connected to a different OSS than the IP routing configured.


- VLAN tagging to the GW IP’s are pending
- No backhaul connectivity

Actions need to be taken

- Try to ping the GW IP’s and OMS IP from the local command probe.
- If not able to ping the GW IP’s from local system, check the backhaul connectivity to BTS

- Ensure no loose connection or connection to wrong ports
- Try changing the OAM IP address to a different OSS.

- Do a IP test from BTSSM and check which IP’s are disconnected.
- After doing all these steps escalate it to next level.
