HOW TO SET UP MDS IN PDMS STEP BY STEP

1. MAKE THE NEW FOLDER “XXXdflts”

Note : “XXX” is the project code. In this case “XXX” is “EDQ”.

2. Edit the path in PDMSEQD.bat

3. Edit the path in evarsEDQ.bat

4. Add the new link go to EQDdflts in evarsEDQ.bat file :

5. Copy the text which highlight in evarsEDQ.bat

Then paste to C:\AVEVA\Plant\MDS12.0.SP5\mds.bat

6. Open mds.bat then add the link as below
 Note : D:\MR_THANH\EDQ\ : path where the project is located.
7. Copy all data in mdsdflts folder from C:\AVEVA\Plant\MDS12.0.SP5\project\mds\

Then paste to folder EDQdflts in D:\MR_THANH\EDQ\EDQdflts

 8. Run PDMSEDQ.bat from D:\MR_THANH\EDQ as below

9. Create the user MDS as below

In team membership add the data as below

10. Create the Teams MDS as below

11. Create the Master DB in Databases & Extracts

 Save and Get work then Exit PDMS.
12. Run MDS with PDMS from program
13. Go to Databases & Extracts then Include some data as below
- Choose MDS project
- Username : SYSTEM
- Password : XXXXXX
- Data will be included :
MDS/CATA
MDS/PROP
MDS/WELDS
MDS/DESITMPL-BS
MDS/DESITMPL-PSL

- Choose MASS project

- Username : SYSTEM
- Password : XXXXXX
- Data will be included :
MASTER/MDSDICT

- Choose MDU project

- Username : SYSTEM
- Password : XXXXXX
- Data will be included :
MDU/CATA

- Choose IMP project

- Username : SYSTEM
- Password : XXXXXX
- Data will be included :
CATS/CATA
CATS/DESI
Note :
If have mistake like below

We have to remove the DB No. 7160 by delete its.

 Save and get work
14. We will Copy Foreign some data in Databases & Extracts
Copy Foreign as below :
MDS/MDSAPPDEFAULTS
MDS/DESI-SPECIAL-TMPL-BS
MDS/DRAFT
15. Create MDBs MDS as below:
We will choose any <MDB> then click copy

Then name : MDS

Choose <MDB> MDS then click Modify

We will move the data below in Project Databases to Current Databases
- CATS/CATA
- CATS/DESI
- MASTER/MDSDICT
- MDS/CATA
- MDS/DESI-SPECIAL-TMPL-BS
- MDS/DESITMPL-BS
- MDS/DESITMPL-PSL
- MDS/DRAFT
- MDS/MDS
- MDS/MDSAPPDEFAULTS
- MDS/PROP
- MDS/WELD
- MDU/CATA
Save & get work
16. Run MDS with PDMS as below

We will MDS Active Control by click Modify/MDS Active Control

Then the MDS Active Control panel will open, we will choose ALL Tab, click
Select All and click Active as below

After that, we will click Apply & Dismiss. Save & Get work
17. Run MDS with PDMS as below

Note : if have any problem, we have just only clicked YES/OK

18. Choose MDS_THANH then click Create/Zone

Click Display/Command Line then choose ZONE MDS_SUPPORT, put Q ATT

in command line, then make the Purpose SUPP as below
 Save & get work
19. Click Design/Multi Discipline Supports. If have the table as below just only click
OK
