organizing a Uttarakhand Educator Summit- 2018 & First State Level Education Excellence Award- 2018 on 10th
of December, 2018 at Saffron Leaf Dehradun.
Divya Himgiri Premiere Media House actively involved in promoting Educational Excellence in Uttrakhand with
the support of a Screening & Award Committee under the chairmanship of Mr. Justice Rajesh tendon, Chairman
Uttarakhand Law Commission & and other eminent Educationist of the society.

initiative to organize First State Level Education Excellence Award to recognize the efforts of leading Education
Institute, Directors, Principals & Teachers that are somehow contributing in this sector on 10th of December,
2018.
I hope this Education Excellence Award- 2018 will mean to change the prospective towards good education

Excellence Awards- 2018 organise by DIVYA HIMGIRI & Human Rights Protection Centre under the stewardship
of personalities like Mr. Justice K.D. Shahi, Mr. Justice Rajesh Tandon and stalwarts of educational setups. As
a Paediatrician working with schools for last 25 years , I know the environment of the institute ,vision of the
management ,Principal and staff makes and molds the cognitive growth of young children and fine tunes the life
of youth.
Understanding the social responsibilities and multiple dimensions in running an institute lead us to start this
awards of excellence in various categories, the first thing decided and adhered to by the selection committee

Our quiz teams won five inter-school quizzes this
year, stood Second in one and Fourth in another.
Our junior quiz team qualified for the international
level of the Wild Wisdom Quiz organized by WWF

Our table tennis team won a bronze medal in the

Him Jyoti School was founded by the erstwhile
Governor of Uttarakhand and Sikkim, H.E.Shri
Sudarshan Agarwal, who envisioned a glowing
future for girls from underprivileged families of
Uttarakhand.
Him Jyoti School, a bold and ambitious initiative of
Himalayan School Society, is a free residential school
for bright girls from socio-economically deprived
families of Uttarakhand. The school was established
in 2007 with 19 girls and inaugurated by the then
Chief Minister General B.C. Khanduri. Today,
the school provides free education and residential
facilities to 280 girls, at present. The school is
equipped with the finest furniture and equipment,
laboratories, activity centre, playgrounds and a
hostel to accommodate over 280 students.

Academics:
Him Jyoti School has established its mark in the
realm of academics. It has been delivering excellent
Board Results year after year. In fact, this year, the
school has received a special commendation from
CBSE for the excellent Class 10th and 12th result.
This year the minimum percentage achieved by any
student is 76%, which is no mean feat considering
the fact that most of the students start their formal

Extra-curricular activities and Sports:

the students of Him Jyoti shine like pole stars.
They have won District Football Trophy multiple
times, Best March Past Trophy, and Best Athlete
Trophy for women. In the recently held Inter-school
Football matches organized by Reliance Foundation,
the school bagged the City Champions Trophy. 4
girls of Him Jyoti have been selected for National
Table Tennis championship this year.
Social Service:
One of the key factors at Him Jyoti is its
commitment to raise socially responsible citizens.
All the students in the school are encouraged
to engage in social upliftment activities in their
respective villages and communities. The senior
students of the school help to educate their
community members, during vacation. They also
spread awareness regarding health and hygiene.
Class 11 students of the school go to a Government
primary school situated at Sahastradhara Road to
strengthen their academic and extra-curricular
skills.

As the students of Him Jyoti pass out of the school
with a well-rounded personality, they are able
to gain admission in some of the best colleges
