Bankisol-722 206, Bankura (W.B.) India TIME-DEPENDENT BE! ‘The changing pattern of Chromosomes inside a living cell is mathematically analysed here. The wave motion in chromosomes inside a living cell has recently been discussed by the author 1-3. Following tha earlier results. the time-dependent behaviour of ehromox somes containing gene structures has been considered. Assuming only nearest neighbour interaction, the equn. of motion of the genes can be written as' mq, =8 (4,4 —24, + a1) (1) where m is the mass of each gene, q, the displacement of the gene relative to its equii- brium position and $ is the “effective force constant". From eqn. (1), the maximum frequency is given by um=24/ Sim We new write =a Yan = Vim (a, 444) Which implies = V5IM (v,_; — wy44) (2) forall. This set of equns. is satisfied by any solution of the form % W=A IL (w, t) (3) Time-Dependent Behaviour of Chromosome 192 1 rn, where nis an arbitrary integer. Jc (x) Is @ Bessel function of wear x. Bessel functions oscilate with dacaying amplitude, For k—. a co ca Jy ( mn tet 1? coset ‘Acchanging pattern of chromosome (with time) inside a living cell is thus noted, Both structural change and eneray are transmitted as waves in a chromosomes.
