Josh: A battle of technique!

Jen: A projection of poise and carriage.

Josh: An exhibition of splendid angelic voices.

Jen: Who among the delegation will grab championship in the 1st ever dance sports
competition likewise in the singing competition. There is only one way to find out.

Jen: Live from the Mallig Plains Colleges Cultural and Sports Center, this is

Both: 2017 NIPSAA Dance sports and Singing Competition.

Josh: Good evening ladies and gentlemen!

Jen: Dios ta gabi ni tam ngamin..

Josh: Naragsak nga rabii yu. Good evening Jenieva! You look astounding tonight and
it’s a privilege for me to be right here beside you hosting this event.

Jen: Good evening Josh! The feeling is mutual. Actually, this is my first time to host this
event here in NIPSA that is why nervousness wrapped up the whole me.

Josh: Yes, we have the same feeling Jen. But, I am pretty sure this would be a wonderful
and exciting night for everyone of us who are here gathered only to witness a splendid
performances coming from equally competent delegates in NIPSA.

Jen: Precisely Josh! We wanted to see bombastic performances. I presumed the coaches
are also nervous and eager to know who will be proclaimed as the best of the best
dancers and singers for this year’s affair.

Josh: So are you now excited? (let the crowd scream)

Where are the students of the Catholic school in Tumauini, the School of Saint
Matthias?

Jen: What about the devoted students from Central Isabela Christian Academy?

Josh: What about the twin-sister of CICA, the pride of Sto Tomas- Northern Isabela
Academy, Inc.?

Jen: May we also hear you loud screams, the kinesthetically genius students of
Magsaysay Memorial High School?
Josh: Where are the competitive student-athletes of Wonderful Grace Learning Center
of Quirino?

Jen: Give us your loudest clap and cheer, the dauntless students of the Advance
Montessori Education Center of Isabela, Inc.

Josh:Let us hear the voices of the only collegiate institution in Mallig, the host school
school for two consecutive years, Mallig Plains Colleges, Inc.

Jen: Give us your loudest cheer, the courgeous and determined students from Miracle
Light Christian Academy of the City of Ilagan.

Jen: You know what Josh after the roll call, I realized that it is not only a battle of wit but
it is truly a battle of 7 TOP PERFORMING PRIVATE SCHOOLS IN ISABELA.

Josh: You hit the mark Jen, I also believe that everyone may be competitive but in our
hearts it is just a friendly competition. Win or lose will be satisfied.

Both: So, let’s no longer prolong the agony of waiting.

Jen. Teamwork makes the dream works. One of the spectacles of being a student is to be
engaged in various activities whose primordial goal is to give a challenge not only in
their intellectual capacity and physical body but also the character towards excellence.

Josh: These are much achieved by organizing affairs such as this event. This event is not
just merely on games rather it is a ground for nurturing our student’s inner sense of
valuing cooperation and collaboration.

Jen: Through achieving such traits, together we can unleash and ponder talents which
soon would be a great contribution towards the desired skills and competence.

To formally commence the program, let us all stand for a nurturing prayer to be led by
Mrs Engrcia T. Fiesta, NIPSAA Secretary.

Josh: To officially open this afternoon’s soiree an to acknowledge everyone in this

prestigious event, may we call on the Director of Magsaysay Memorial High School, Sir
Jesus E. Tumolva Jr.

Jen: To set fire on the dance floor, may we be entertained by a dance number from the
Magsaysay Memorial High school.
Josh: Thank you so much, MMHS! To help us decide who among our singers will win the heart
of the adjudicators and of course the heart of the masses please welcome Mrs Inocencia R.
Opelac, the Assistant Principal of MMHS.

Jen: Before we proceed to the singing contest may we be energized for another intermission

INTERMISSION NUMBER

Jen: Dance Sports Competition is one of the highlights of this year’s NIPSAA . Ballroom
dance offers unique advantages. It is not only a rhythmical exercise that adds life,
graceful muscular movements but it is also a group recreation. A girl who has learned
to be a good ballroom dancer never fades into a wall flower. A boy who can dance is
spared from many agonies of a teenage self-conciousness. Children who dance well are
popular, ones instilled , those ingredients of a good manners are never forgotten. Thus,
ballroom dancing offers more than mere steps , it includes charm of manners and
consideration of other.

Josh: This year, we want to return to the basics of rhythmic sports to instil discipline in
creative and artistic ways. Moreover, the two categories of dance sport competition are
Latin American and Modern Standard Dance. Latin Dances originated in Latin America
which features sensual expression of love and passion whereas standard dances, are
social dances which show quick steps and difficult poses.

Josh: Cha-cha-cha is a Cuban dance based on the Rumba Dance where its count is 1,2, 3
and 4.
Thus, this dance evolved from Mambo and has its origins in the religious ritual dances
of West Africa. Moreover, it is derived from the Spanish “chacha” meaning
“nursemaid”, or “chachar” meaning “to chew leaves” or from ‘’char” meaning “tea.”

Ladies and gentlemen, the dancers in their chachacha.

Josh: You know what Jen, I can’t really believe how these dancers persevere only to
snatch a spot. Likewise, the coaches. Their eagerness is evident. Soon, we will find out
who will qualify to join the final round. At this point in time, lets welcome the dancers
in their jive!

Standard Dancers, get ready!

Jen: Indeed dancing is an expression of one’s personality. We can read personality and
character by the way he/she dances.

Joshua: That is right Jen! Traits such humidity, aggressiveness and consideration for
others, arrogance and other characteristics are revealed when one dance. Samba comes
from Brazil. It is lively and vigorous. feet is constantly leaving the floor. It is literally, a
bouncing step. Ladies and gentlemen, the dancers in their samba.

Once again, our dancers in their samba.

Josh: Yes! We have just witnessed our Latin Dancers in their mesmerizing and eye-
catching hips and body movements.

Jen: Thank you so much dancers! One thing I have learned Josh (Josh answers),
International dances are performed with contemporary Latin American Music and
with the exception of a few travelling dances.

Josh: Precisely, Jen! Seeing them perform well, wow perhaps the judges are having a
tough job in selecting the best Latin Dancers in Area 1. This time lets all welcome the
Modern Standard Dancers.

Ranas. It was first known as “baile con corte”- the dance with a stop. It is characterized
by sudden changes of direction and its many flaring and dipping steps.

Jen: Gustung gusto kong ulitin yung sinasabi ni Luis Mansazo, PETMALU, malupet!
Ladies and gentlemen, we have just witnessed the modern standard dancers in the
Secondary
Ladies and gentlemen, the dancers in their Slow Waltz.

Congratulations kiddos! You have just proven your worth. The greatest prize of joining
this event is not only representing your home town but the enjoyment and fun you had
as you attack the dancefloor.

Jen: Definitely Josh. As an old adage says, “Many are called yet few are chosen.” This
implies that
You must not be disgusted with the results because in the very first place you have
already brought an honor and glory not only to your school but also with your humble
hometown.
