MATHEMATICS PROJECT
I. Objectives:
You must create a product wherein you shall apply some mathematical concepts and may
be used by other learners to learn Math Better. Your Math Project may be related to, but
not limited to, the following:
- Improvised Devices
- Teaching/Learning Aides
- Computer Program/Mobile Application
- Games
- Designs, Arts and Crafts
- Mathematical Models
1. The contest is open to all Junior High School students currently enrolled in the
respective school. Each participating school shall send ONLY ONE (1) entry for
Mathematical Project Contest.
2. The project may be by group or by individual, depending on the respective school’s
choice/decision. If the project is done by group, there must be no more than 5 members
in the group. The project shall be purely done by the students. The coach’s role shall
be limited only to advising possible project, discussing and clarifying important math
concepts needed, checking and editing the paper, advising on ways to improve the
project, and/or preparing the students for the oral presentation.
3. The participants must provide a panel board for the oral presentation. The project shall
be displayed along with the panel board. They must also prepare at least three (3)
copies of the hard copy for the written presentation.
4. On the day of the contest, the students must submit the three hard copies of the written
presentation of the Math Project upon registration. This is to give time for the members
of the panel of judges to read and study the presentation.
5. After judging the written presentation, the panelists shall proceed to the judge the actual
project and the oral presentation.
6. In the presentation, the students will present the project using a panel board and the
displayed project. They may present using any medium of communication, whether in
English or in Filipino. The use of English is not required though it may suggest added
factor to the panelists’ judgment.
7. The time allotment for the oral presentation is 5-10 minutes only. After 10 minutes,
even if the presentation is not yet finished, the contestant shall be stopped.
8. Questions may be asked by the panelists during the oral presentation.
9. The decision of the members of the panel of judges is final and irrevocable.
