Dear Friend,
Greetings in the precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ. In
recognition of the birth of our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, there is a fascinating
verse of Scripture found in the book of Matthew that says, "Behold, a virgin
shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call His name
Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us" (Matthew 1:23). Many
confess that trouble, despair, struggles, etc. are with them. But the believer
knows one thing: God is with them! All of us have something going on that no
one else knows about. But those who put their trust in the Lord have the blessed
assurance that God is with them.
In taking a closer look at the word, "Emmanuel," it doesn't mean the Lord
takes my side over someone else. It means that the Creator has come to dwell
with all people! His desire is to be with all of us on a personal basis. He desires
to take away our sins and to make us ready to make heaven our home one day
with Him. If you are lost, He wants to give you a path to safety. If you have a sin
related problem He came to give you power over that. Yes, our Emmanuel is not
afar off, but he is with us! The Bible tells us He is not so far away from us that
He cannot be touched with the feelings of our infirmities, or our weaknesses.
The Lord Jesus was tempted in all points as we are yet without sin! So you can
come to Him right now with whatever is ailing you, and the Lord knows and
understands your thoughts afar off. As a matter of fact, there was a time in His
ministry when He had no place to call His home. He said, "The foxes have
holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where
to lay His head" (Matthew 8:20). So you see, He understands what it is like to
have been separated from His home and family. Yet He made the sacrifice to
leave heaven and all the hosts who worshiped Him, to come to this earth to seek
for you and to find you today, wherever you are. He came to heal your broken
heart. He came to pick you up and lift your spirit and to dry your tears.
I opened my Bible the other day and while I was praying I came across this
verse of Scripture. It stood out to me in such a way I could almost hear the voice
of God speaking this to my heart: "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not
dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee;
yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness." (Isaiah
41:10). Even if your future is cloudy, the Lord knows the future and you can
trust Him! Even if you feel bewildered and upset, the Lord will still strengthen
you and help you. He will sustain you with His strong right hand! You don't have
to be strong in yourself: He will be the strength of your life! I believe the Bible
says, what He says to one He says to all. And that includes you! He loves you.
He will hold your right hand and tell you to fear not: He will help you!
This to me is the message of Christmas: that the Lord God Almighty, who
created heaven and earth and all things in it, came to dwell among men, to take
on Himself the punishment for our transgressions, to overcome every sin and
every weakness of humanity, to swallow up hopelessness in His victory, so we
could have the hope of eternal life. And He rose from the dead to prove to us that
He has power to help us each and every day. Yesterday is passed away and all we
have left are memories. Some are good and some are not. But our past does not
have to keep us from living our lives today! Life is a gift from God. Let His life
and love continually fill you each day. The song writer said, "He's the One who
never leaves the one behind!"
May God bless you in this Christmas season and always, and please
remember, that we are praying for you!
Sincerely,

Rev. Daniel Bossidy
