NON-DRIVER POLICY and ACKNOWLEDGEMENT FORM

Effective September 26, 2016

Effective today, we are implementing a modification to the hiring requirements for Service
Valet associates. Previously, all candidates were required to have a valid driver’s license and
proof of automobile insurance to be considered for employment as a Service Valet. If the
Service Valet associate will not be required to operate a vehicle on behalf of Valet Waste, a
motor vehicle check (MVR) and proof of insurance (POI) will not be needed to hire the
associate.

All associates; however, must pass a thorough criminal background review.

Examples of associates who will not need a motor vehicle check:


1) A Service Valet who will be assisting another Service Valet associate who owns and
drives a truck
2) A Service Valet who lives within close proximity to the property and utilizes other
transportation methods (for example: public transportation or bicycle)
3) A Service Valet servicing a high-rise or mid-rise complex that does not require trucks
4) A Service Valet who has a valid driver's license but does not have proof of insurance
or a motor vehicle

The Non-Driver Acknowledgment Form should be utilized in these situations and completed
by the Service Valet candidate and the District Manager during the interview. ONLY physical
signatures will be accepted – electronic signatures will not be permitted. Once completed,
forward to your assigned recruiter to continue the hiring process.

Please note that there are severe ramifications if the individual drives on the property
without a complete MVR review. If it any point, the District Manager wishes to have the
associate drive on the property, HR must be notified and a comprehensive motor vehicle
check will be required before the associate may operate a vehicle on the property.

EMPLOYEE / CANDIDATE:

I_______________________ attest I will not operate a motor vehicle on an apartment community while
in the service of Valet Waste without a Company motor vehicle review. Additionally, I understand that I
must pass the Company mandated criminal background review prior to hire and that violation of this
policy will be cause for immediate termination.

DISTRICT MANAGER:

I_______________________ attest that I will be held accountable if the employee at any point is
operating a vehicle without a driver’s license and or a thorough motor vehicle review. Additionally, if the
employee is transferred to another property, I will assume the responsibility and will notify Human
Resouces of the change in property assignment.

If at any point the employee wishes to drive on behalf of the Company, I will submit a background
authorization to Human Resources for a motor vehicle review. I understand that the employee must
pass the Company mandated criminal background review prior to hire and that violation of this policy
will be cause for immediate termination.
