ANCIENT EUROPEAN RUNES: THE OLDEST FORM OF

WRITTEN TEXT IN THE WORLD!

European Runes Existed
More Than 3500-Years Before Egyptian Writing,
and Over 2000-Years Before Mesopotamian…
The Vinča Runes of Southeastern Europe are Over 8000-Years-Old!
The Oldest in Recorded History!

ABOVE: Each of the Runic-styled symbols appearing above are attributed to the ancient Vinča culture of Eastern
Europe (Hungary, Croatia, Bulgaria, Greece and others) dated from the 6th through 5th-Millennia BCE (as old as
8000-years!) … All these symbols were originally on ceramic, stone, & wood. Artifacts—most found in Vinča
burial sites.

BELOW: Runes that are identical to the Vinča are found in the Saxon\Frisian “Futhorc”, in common usage by the
Saxon\Frisian and related peoples of Britton and Northwest Germany, from the 5th through 10th-Centuries CE
(more than 1500-years-ago). From Left to Right, these runes were called Eölhx, Suvastika (Fylfot), Peorð, Lagu,
Œðel, Ös, Ng (Stani), Gyfu, Eoh, and Gær (there are additional matching Runes not posted here)...

The Vinča symbols have been found on many clay artifacts excavated from
hundreds of sites (mostly burial) in Southeast Europe, in particular from the area
occupied by the ancient Vinča Civilization, throughout the Danube River Valley
(including the City of Belgrade, and also in Ukraine, Hungary, Greece, Romania,
Bulgaria, Moldova, and other countries. The artifacts date from between the 7th and
4th Millennia BCE and those decorated with these runic symbols are between 8,000
and 6,500-years-old. Scholars that have examined the artifacts believe that the
Vinča symbols represent the earliest form of writing ever found, predating ancient
Egyptian, and Sumerian writing by thousands-of-years. Since the inscriptions are
all short and appear primarily on objects found in burial sites, it has been
hypothesized that these Runic inscriptions were sacred, and possibly prayers meant
for the Vinča Gods & Goddesses.
The Vinča religion was polytheistic--much the same as all other ancient native
religions throughout Europe; they had multiple gods/goddesses. The primary Vinča
deity was a powerful Mother-Goddess that had a strong following represented by a
Priestess order. The religion, like that of other Heathen peoples of Europe, featured
fertility symbols of people (female being most pervasive), animals, and plants and
likely was nature-based. A Chieftain and Warrior class existed in additional to a
flourishing Farming\Yeoman class; therefore, the idea of the Vinča deities being a
mixture of both Fertility & Warrior is accepted (nearly identical to the combination of
Aesir & Vanir deities).

Most facts and histories of the Vinča are still unknown for a number of tragic
reasons, the primary being that the countries in which the Vinča discoveries could
be made and explored were under the control of Marxist/Communist dictatorships
until the early 1990’s. Even after the “fall” of Soviet Russia and decline of
Communist regimes, these countries were thrown into civil wars and chaos,
preventing most of the Archaeological Scientific Community from any extensive
studies. Lack of information led to silly myths such as the “Swastika” being an
exclusively Egyptian or Buddhist Symbol not native to Europeans; Vinča were using
the Swastika to symbolize their people and beliefs for thousands-and-thousands-of-
years prior to it ever existing in Egyptian or Asian\Indian Buddhist histories…

Because of so many historical & political complications, obstructing &

preventing professional studies of Vinča culture and language (represented in their
sacred Runic script) further facts & knowledge remain undetermined or incomplete.
More of the world’s experts, especially in the fields of Ancient Linguistics are needed
to resolve this. The world’s Archaeological Scientific Communities have a
responsibility to give these amazing, monumental, historical discoveries the
attention they deserve...
